About me and my therapy practice

Sometimes the ways you've always handled life's pressures just stop working. You're feeling stuck, anxious, afraid, and blame yourself for not being able to manage, or perhaps you've putting yourself out there for others so much your own needs have taken a back seat. Carrying these feelings alone can leave you running on empty, disconnected from the person you want to be.

I'm Reuben, and I'm currently working online and in-person with adults from The Wellbeing Rooms in Stepps, Glasgow.

I offer an empathetic and confidential space to help you navigate and find meaning in the difficult moments life presents us with. Instead of dishing out labels or offering superficial ‘quick fixes,’ I’ll work alongside you as a collaborator, helping you unpack past and present experiences at your own pace so you can better understand and deal with those things that are holding back just now.

Practice description

As a person-centred therapist, I honour the unique needs of every individual. As an approach, this makes what I do adaptable and supportive for a wide range of experiences. Some of the most common areas of difficulty I work with include anxiety, depression, shame and self-worth, relationship difficulties, loss and major life changes.

As a man and a father, I am passionate about exploring masculinity and supporting clients through the evolving expectations of manhood today.

I am also committed to working alongside those navigating neurodivergence, LGBTQ+ identities, and I have a special interest in the emotional impacts of living digitally, environmental change, and eco-anxiety.

My first session

Booking a first session can feel like a big step - it’s completely normal to feel a bit apprehensive. Our first meeting is really about to get to know one another, and a chance for you to see how it feels to talk with me. We'll also cover your story and what brings you to therapy right now - though there’s no pressure to have everything figured out or to dive into your deepest history right away. We'll also cover some important issues around the way we'd like to work together, including safe working and maintaining confidentiality.
