About me and my therapy practice
I’m a warm, friendly counsellor with heaps of life experience. I offer therapy without all the long words or the cardigans — just real conversations, empathy, and support that makes sense.
My aim is to offer a space that feels safe, relaxed, and real — a place where you can talk about whatever’s going on, no matter how big or small it feels. You don’t have to hide any part of yourself here. This is a space where you can be yourself — completely. You can cry, laugh, swear, sit in silence, or just try to make sense of things. However you show up, it’s okay.
Practice description
I work in a person-centred way, which means I trust that you know yourself best. I’m here to listen and to help you make sense of things at your own pace. Together, we can explore what’s working, what’s feeling stuck, and what might help you move forward.
Sometimes therapy brings up tough emotions, and sometimes it brings laughter or relief. However it looks for you, I try to meet you with warmth, honesty, and respect. My practice is inclusive and LGBTQ+ affirming — whoever you are, you’re welcome here. I work from a fully accessible room with parking outside and opposite the bus station.
My background is varied and has given me a wealth of life experience that I bring into my counselling practice. I have worked in accounts, managed a coffee shop, raised a family, been a home carer, and volunteered with the ambulance service before realising my long-held dream of qualifying as a counsellor.
I have had personal experience of baby loss, OCD, PTSD, depression, Bipolar Disorder, chronic illness, divorce, gender dysphoria, family breakdown, bereavement,....and probably others!
These experiences have shaped my understanding of the different challenges people face in life and deepened my ability to offer empathy, support, and a non-judgemental space to clients. I am passionate about counselling, whether that means supporting you to reach your full potential, helping you to heal after trauma, or simply being there to listen.
Being part of the LGBTQ+ community, I understand how complex and overwhelming life can sometimes feel. My training with the Infant Loss Foundation and and volunteer work with Mind have given me experience supporting people through many challenges including anxiety, depression, PTSD, anger, bereavement, and relationship difficulties.
Please note: I do occasionally wear cardigans :)
My first session
I offer a free 15 minute video appointment to see if we are a good fit for each other.
