About me and my therapy practice

Hello

I understand that seeking help and starting therapy can be hard and I strive to make the process as welcoming as possible. I offer online and face-to-face sessions from my traquil therapy room in Brighton.

My approach is Person-Centred which means that I stay with my clients in whatever they need to explore. Collaboration is key in this approach and all thoughts and feelings are respected.

Practice description

I practice Person Centred counselling, an approach that adapts to the unique needs of each individual.  I have worked in the NHS and other agencies supporting clients aged 14 to 84 from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of mental and physical health challenges. Clients that I have worked with have presented with many differnt concerns including: anxiety, depression, women's issues, grief, post natal depression, body dysmorphia, trauma, family issues, domestic abuse, addiction, as well as various diagnosed and undiagnosed conditions. My aim is to cultivate a good depth of understanding about each person's experience, empowering them to navigate their journey and enhance their sense of agency and wellbeing.

I am an artist as well as a counsellor and find skills like close observation and an appreciation of diverse perspectives are vital in both fields. Although I do not practce art therapy I think of the counselling space as a creative one and have art materials availible to help clients explore feelings that might be hard to put into words.

I have worked with a neurotypical and neurodivergent clients with ADHD, Autism and dyslexia. I am dyslexic and believe this neurodiversity fuels my curiosity and empathy about how others experience life. I believe these attributes help to create a supportive and collaborative environment for clients to feel understood and valued.
