About me and my therapy practice

I am an engaged, committed, and curious counsellor, dedicated to meeting you wherever you currently are. My goal is to support you in understanding your world, navigating challenges, and working collaboratively towards healing and personal growth.

About me:

My journey began as a client, facing the challenges of my world and reflecting on the person I wanted to be. Through a supportive professional, I discovered the profound impact of feeling safe, good enough, and curious about my world. This experience led me on my own personal journey and inspired me to support this process for others, providing a space for healing, growth and exploration.

What is counselling?

Often, we seek counselling when something doesn’t feel quite right and maybe hasn’t for a long time. We might keep finding ourselves in similar cycles or come to realise we cannot carry on in this same way. We might be experiencing difficult relationships, a racing anxious mind, feelings of depression or transitioning life stages, like becoming a parent or retiring. Counselling is a place for you to explore whats on your mind and your unique story. We could look at your upbringing, core values, significant relationships, a conflict within you or the different parts to you that make up who you are. Whatever it is that's on your mind, it deserves the space to be listened to. By exploring this in counselling, you might come to discover things about who you are and come to have a greater understanding of yourself. Have you considered what brings you to counselling at this point in your life? Have you ever wondered how your past life experiences impacted the person you came to be? Counselling can be a great place for your story to be heard.

Practice description

How we will work together:

I will:

Adapt my work specifically to you and how you work best. This could mean working: creatively, with bodily sensations, or looking at the science of brain responses; or all/ none of these.

Work collaboratively with you to explore and manage what you are currently dealing with. We will start wherever you’re currently at and the counselling process won’t be a race. I will walk alongside you and support you on your journey. It’s important that you feel comfortable and safe in our sessions before moving into more challenging work and if that doesn’t feel natural for you, we may start our work here. Focusing on building safety, trust and communication.

Be committed to our work and relationship, taking an active role and making sure I am doing my best for you. I will be willing to have difficult conversations and I may challenge things you bring to our sessions. Counselling may take us to difficult places from your past or present, it may be that through our work you wish to make some difficult changes and these aren’t always easy. I will be here to support you through any of these difficult moments.
