About me and my therapy practice
I offer an empathetic, open and non-judgemental space to explore issues together and support you in working towards your goals, at your pace. I listen carefully to and I am guided by what is important to you. Through our sessions together, we will work towards gaining a deeper understanding of the issues that are causing you distress or impacting you in some way and supporting you in making any changes that you feel will help you in living a happier and more fulfilling life.
Please feel free to message me if you have any questions or if you’d like to arrange a telephone call. This is an opportunity to discuss what you hope to gain from therapy, as well as any questions you may have. I will explain a bit about my approach and how I may be able to help you. You might decide that you are not ready to continue with therapy at this point or that I am not the right therapist for you, in which case I may be able to help by suggesting other options.
As examples of areas I may be able to support you with, I have previously worked with issues relating to abuse, anxiety, chronic illness, confidence, depression, grief, health, identity, life transitions, loneliness, loss, low mood, low self-esteem, OCD, relationships, trauma and stress.
A bit about my qualifications and training: I am a certified BACP registered (MBACP) counsellor and psychotherapist trained in person-centred therapy. I have a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy (Level 7, BACP accredited) and an MA in Education (I have a background in education and training). I have also completed training in domestic abuse and trauma-informed counselling and cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) techniques, which we can discuss integrating if you feel that might be beneficial for you.
