About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m George.
I am a relational psychodynamic counsellor, and run an inclusive practice in Central London. I offer a confidential, reflective space where we can explore what has brought you to therapy with curiosity and compassion.
I have worked with adults and young people from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures, and identities. Much of my work focuses on:
Anxiety and panic attacks
Depression and low mood
Stress and burnout
Trauma and attachment difficulties
Loss and bereavement
Identity, difference, and belonging
Neurodiversity (ADHD and autism)
Questions of meaning, purpose, and connection
Practice description
My approach
My work is grounded in attachment theory and the belief that understanding and change are facilitated through a collaborative, safe, and trusting therapeutic relationship.
My work involves exploring how our lived experience, early attachments, and relational patterns influence how we feel, relate, and live in the present.
Through this process, we may begin to understand behaviours and patterns of relating that no longer serve us, supporting greater freedom & authenticity, self-acceptance, and healthier relationships.
I am experienced in working across cultures and social contexts, and my work has involved supporting people who live between cultures or identities. While attachment and relational-based therapy sit at the heart of my practice, I also hold an interest in pluralistic and existential thinking, valuing intersectionality and the richness of difference as central to therapeutic understanding.
Ways of working & training
I offer open-ended and short-term counselling, depending on your needs and circumstances. The majority of my work is in person in Central London, near Euston, and I also offer some limited online therapy.
The therapy space is level-access and accessible, with flexibility around individual needs.
Alongside my clinical practice, I am a trainee at the Bowlby Centre, training in attachment-based psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
For clients who would like to work psychoanalytically, I am able to offer therapy at a frequency of twice weekly. As this work forms part of my ongoing training, a reduced fee can be discussed where appropriate.
If you are unsure what you may want or need, an initial conversation is often a good way to begin.
Registrations
I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy). As such, I am fully insured and bound by their professional Code of Ethics.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to therapy and to begin getting a sense of whether working together feels right for you. It is as much an opportunity for you to get a feel for me and the way I work, as it is for me to understand your needs.
The session provides space to explore your current concerns, what you are hoping for from therapy, and any questions or uncertainties you may have about the process.
