About me and my therapy practice
As a person‑centred counsellor, my work is grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens when you feel safe, truly heard, and accepted as you are. I offer a warm, steady, and compassionate space where you can explore your experiences without judgement or pressure. Our sessions move at your pace, following what feels most important for you.
I work relationally, which means our therapeutic relationship is the foundation of the work we do together. I pay close attention to your emotions, your story, and the parts of yourself you may have learned to silence. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to help you understand yourself more deeply so you can make choices that feel authentic and grounded.
My practice is particularly attuned to clients who feel unseen, misunderstood, or overwhelmed by life’s demands. I have experience supporting people with anxiety, depression, family and relationship difficulties, workplace stress, and those exploring late ADHD diagnosis, especially women who have spent years masking or feeling “out of step”.
Together, we might explore patterns that feel stuck, the weight of expectations, or the impact of past experiences. I offer gentle reflection, emotional safety, and space to reconnect with your own voice and strengths. My aim is to walk alongside you as you move toward greater clarity, confidence, and self‑understanding.
If this approach resonates with you, I’d be honoured to work with you.
Practice description
In my practice, I offer a calm, warm and relational space where you can explore what’s happening in your life without judgement, pressure, or expectation. My approach is person‑centred, which means our work is led by you. You set the pace, choose what feels important to talk about, and bring whatever you need to each session. My role is to walk alongside you with empathy, curiosity, and respect, helping you feel seen, heard, and understood.
Clients often come to me when they feel overwhelmed, low, anxious, or stuck in patterns that no longer feel manageable. Others are navigating family or relationship difficulties, work pressures, or the complex emotions that come with a late ADHD diagnosis, especially for women who have spent years masking or feeling out of step with others. Whatever brings you to therapy, you will be met with warmth and steadiness.
In our sessions, we might gently explore difficult feelings, unpick what feels tangled, reflect on experiences that shaped you, and make space for parts of yourself you’ve learned to quieten. I offer a supportive environment where you can reconnect with your own voice, build self‑trust, and develop a clearer sense of who you are and what you need.
My practice is grounded in compassion, emotional safety, and a belief in your capacity to grow. If you’re looking for a therapist who is genuine, nurturing, and attuned to your lived experience, it would be a privilege to work with you.
My first session
Your first session with me is a gentle introduction to the therapeutic space and to each other. I understand that starting counselling can feel daunting, so this session is designed to help you settle in, ask questions, and get a sense of whether working together feels right for you.
In our first meeting, I won’t ask you to complete any formal assessments unless you wish to. Instead, we take time to explore what has brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and any concerns you may have. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as feels comfortable. My focus is on creating a safe, calm and supportive space where you can speak freely and feel genuinely heard.
I will explain how I work, what you can expect from our sessions, and how we can shape the process to suit your needs. We can also discuss practical details such as session times, confidentiality, fees, and any adjustments you might require.
I offer the first session at my usual rate, and there is no obligation to continue if it doesn’t feel like the right fit — finding the right therapist is an important part of the process. Many clients describe this initial session as relieving and grounding, as it gives them a chance to slow down, reflect, and feel into the therapeutic relationship.
My aim is that you leave the first session feeling respected, understood, and clearer about your next steps, whether that involves continuing together or exploring other options. If you’d like to begin, I’d be glad to meet you.
