About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Gemma and I am a Person-Centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist who is based in Glasgow. If you have arrived on this page, it may be because some parts of your life are feeling heavy or challenging.
What I can offer you is a welcoming space, where you can explore whatever you are experiencing in a supportive and understanding way. I aim to hear and understand you in an empathetic way that helps you to navigate what feels important to you at your own pace.
Meeting people and getting to know their stories feels like a privilege to me. Human connection is something that I value highly and is at the heart of how I work. Every person I work with brings something unique, and I find that I learn so much from each conversation as they make sense of their world. If you decide you’d like to start therapy with me, we can arrange a session. Sessions are 50 minutes long and cost £55. I also keep a small number of reduced‑fee spaces for students and people on lower incomes, so if that would make therapy more accessible for you, please do get in touch and we can talk it through.
Practice description
I work in a way that is empathetic and non‑judgemental. Realness is important to me, and I aim to show up as a genuine person in the room with you. My intention is to be present in our time together and to work in a way that flows in the direction that best supports you.
We’ll have regular check‑ins to explore how the therapy feels for you and whether it’s meeting your needs. I don’t have expectations about how quickly someone should move or what “progress” should look like. I’m able to hold space with you, even in places that feel uncomfortable or uncertain.
I will have items such as fidget toys, art materials etc available for use as these items can sometimes help the process of therapy.
Accessibility: If you’re planning to come in person, the building has a few stairs up to the main entrance. My room is on the first floor, and there’s a small lift available. If you have any accessibility needs or adjustments that would help you feel comfortable, just let me know and I’ll do my best to accommodate them.
My first session
I’m happy to offer a free 20‑minute chat over the phone or online so we can get a sense of whether working together feels right for you.
