I can offer daytime / evening sessions Monday - Friday.
If you have any questions, or would like to book a session, I offer a free preliminarily 15 minute telephone conversation where we can talk about what your therapy goals are, what I can offer and if that would be a good fit for you.
About me and my therapy practice
Hi i'm Liz. Im a qualified therapist working with adults and young people in Bristol
I understand how daunting it can feel to take the first step into counselling and have compassion for anyone starting out on that journey. My aim is to create a supportive, safe space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace. I hope to help you feel comfortable enough to share your feelings, ensuring you’ll be met with kindness and understanding and without judgement.
My approach is gentle, empathetic, and person-centred - meaning I listen to your experiences as unique and valuable, see the world from your perspective, and tailor our sessions to your individual goals and needs. I believe counselling can be a deeply transformative process when nurtured in the right environment.
While my foundation is in person-centred therapy, I also draw on other approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and solution-focused techniques, when they may be helpful or are requested by clients.
I’m there to be alongside you, offering support and encouragement as you move toward meaningful change.
You may be feeling unsure about reaching out, and that’s completely understandable. By listening with care, empathy, and genuine understanding, I hope to help you feel heard and supported. If you choose to get in touch, you will be met with compassion and respect, and we can explore things together at a pace that feels right for you.
Practice description
I aim to offer a calm, welcoming, and confidential space where adults and young people can feel safe to be themselves. I work gently and collaboratively, supporting clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences at a pace that feels right for them. I value warmth, empathy, and authenticity, and I believe that being truly heard and accepted can support meaningful change. My approach is respectful and compassionate, shaped by the understanding that each person’s journey is unique.
I offer online and in person sessions in Ashley Down, off Gloucester Rd. My counselling room offers a calm and comfortable space away from the noise of everyday life. The room is light, cosy and thoughtfully furnished to create a warm, welcoming space where you can feel safe, take a breath, and explore whatever’s on your mind at your own pace.
My first session
If you decide that we’re a good fit to work together, our first session will be a chance to explore the goals you’d like to focus on and discuss anything you’d like support with. It will also give you the opportunity to ask any questions or raise any concerns. I’ll explain how I work, and we’ll spend some time getting to know each other so we can begin building a strong, collaborative foundation.
