About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Claire (she/her), a qualified counsellor based in Bristol offering counselling for adults.
I believe counselling can be a powerful and healing process, a way of understanding ourselves and our stories with greater compassion and clarity.
I welcome people from all walks of life and am committed to offering an inclusive, affirming space. I work with respect for difference in background, identity, culture, sexuality, gender, faith, and relationship styles, and I’m always open to learning from the people I work with.
Practice description
Counselling with me is a space to slow things down and pay attention to what’s really happening for you, in your life, in your relationships, and inside you.
We usually begin with what’s most present. That might be something that’s happened recently, a feeling you keep coming up against, or a situation that feels confusing or heavy. By staying close to your experience, noticing thoughts, feelings, and sometimes what’s happening in your body, understanding tends to unfold naturally.
As we work this way, patterns often become clearer. We may gently explore where certain responses or ways of coping were learned, not to analyse for its own sake, but to bring compassion and clarity to what’s happening now, and to support more choice and ease going forward.
I work in a warm, humanistic and integrative way, drawing on a range of approaches and shaped around you rather than a fixed agenda. You don’t need to know what to talk about or have clear goals when you start, we can discover what matters together.
My first session
When we meet for the first session, I’ll invite you to talk about what you’re hoping to bring, and we’ll check whether working together feels like a right fit for you.
I offer both time-limited and open-ended work, with sessions lasting 50 minutes at £50.
I also offer a free 15-minute phone call as an initial step to talk about what’s brought you here and whether I might be the right therapist for you.
