About me and my therapy practice
Hello, a warm welcome to my page.
I'm a person-centred, integrative counsellor. Person-centred means I put you at the heart of the counselling process and explore the areas you would like to look at, at your pace. Integrative means I may also draw in other approaches to my practice which may be of help to you.
Together we can look at what challenges you are facing- this could be struggles with managing everyday life, a recent or historical traumatic experience, a long-term issue, or even something you can't quite put your finger on. We can explore how this is negatively impacting your life and what may be keeping you 'stuck' in this experience. We can then work together to see how you can move forward and make lasting changes. This process often leaves clients feeling more resilient, better-equipped to manage what may happen in the future and with a more positive relationship with themselves.
I will listen with compassion and understanding and offer a safe, non-judgemental space to bring whatever is on your mind.
Practice description
I use practice rooms in Filton, Bristol at Network Counselling and Training. These are comfortable, calm spaces which are wheelchair accessible. I am available for both online and face-to-face sessions.
I hold a Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Counselling. My training integrated psychological understanding with a focus on the whole person- body, mind and spirit. I am comfortable supporting those wishing to bring faith or spirituality to the sessions.
In addition to my private practice, I have over 25 years' experience in an educational context working with adults and young people from a wide range of cultural, religious and socio-economic backgrounds. I am also an Initial Assessor at Network, assessing clients wishing to have counselling with Network's student counsellor cohort.
I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). Membership involves adherence to their strict ethical framework in my practice, keeping up-to-date with the latest techniques and developments in the counselling field, and attending training on a regular basis.
Sessions cost £50 and can be booked on a weekly or fortnightly basis. I offer a 10% discount to teachers or those working in the NHS. Clients who book a block of 6 sessions paid for in advance receive their 6th session free of charge.
