About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I'm Negin, an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist working with adults.

People come to therapy for different reasons. You might be experiencing difficulties in relationships, struggling with your sense of self, or finding it difficult to understand certain emotional experiences. Perhaps you notice familiar patterns repeating in your relationships, find yourself putting others first, or struggle to express what you need. At other times, you might simply feel disconnected, overwhelmed or unsure of what is happening internally.

I'm particularly interested in how our earlier relationships, family dynamics and personal experiences shape the ways we see ourselves and relate to others. Sometimes we recognise patterns in our lives without fully understanding where they come from or why they continue.

My work is relational and integrative. I am interested in getting to know you beyond the difficulties that have brought you to therapy, exploring your experiences, relationships and the different ways you have learned to navigate the world.

I work with adults from diverse backgrounds and offer counselling and psychotherapy in both English and Farsi (Persian).

Practice description

My approach is integrative, drawing primarily on person-centred and psychodynamic perspectives. I consider how our personal histories, early relationships and wider experiences can influence our emotional wellbeing, self-esteem and relationships in adulthood.

In therapy, we might explore recurring patterns, conflicting feelings, difficulties with boundaries, or ways of responding that may have developed through earlier experiences. I am also interested in emotional experiences that can be difficult to recognise or put into words, and how these may be experienced both emotionally and physically.

I place importance on the therapeutic relationship and believe that the way we relate to one another can become an important part of the work. I aim to work collaboratively, taking time to understand your individual experiences rather than following a predetermined formula.

My intention is not to tell you how to feel or what decisions to make, but to support a process of exploration and understanding that is guided by what matters to you.

My first session

I offer a free 15-minute introductory telephone conversation. This is an opportunity to briefly discuss what has brought you to therapy, ask any initial questions and consider whether working together might feel right.

If we decide to proceed, our first 50-minute session will give us time to explore what you are looking for from therapy, what feels important to you and how we might approach the work together. There is no obligation to continue beyond the initial conversation.
