About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Jess (she/her) - an Integrative Psychotherapist.

I understand that being here today means that life is probably feeling difficult right now. You might be feeling anxious, sad, overwhelmed or disconnected from yourself. Maybe you're overthinking, questioning your worth, finding relationships hard, or struggling to make sense of why you feel this way?

If this is where you find yourself now, I want to acknowledge the discomfort and courage it's taken for you to arrive on this page. Starting (or returning to) therapy can feel like a big step, but I also know from personal experience that it can be one of the best gifts you can give yourself.

I work with women and non-binary people who are navigating anxiety, sadness or overwhelm. These feelings might relate to questions of self worth, relationship challenges, a life transition of loss and new beginnings, a sense of burn out or something you can't quite put your finger on yet.

I offer therapy from a peaceful room in Peckham (SE15) just off Bellenden road, which is accessible from East Dulwich or a 5 min walk from Peckham Rye Station. Sessions can also be done online from a place that's familiar and comfortable for you.

Whether we meet in person or online my aim is to provide you with a compassionate space where you will be met with empathy, care and respect.

Practice description

Every person who comes to me is unique and our work together will reflect that.

As an Integrative Therapist my work is grounded in Person-Centered, Psychodynamic, Psychosocial and Cognitive Behavioural therapies.

What does this mean?

It means that at the heart of my practice is the understanding that we are all, moving towards growth even if at times we feel disconnected or unsure of how to move forward. Therapy offers you a space to reconnect with that inner direction.

Together, we can begin to understand the relationship you have with yourself and with others by paying attention to the impact of early relationships, unconscious patterns, cultural values and the protective ways you have learned to cope.

By understanding the link between your past and present, thoughts, feelings, and behaviours we can expand your capabilities and develop practical ways of responding differently to the challenges of everyday life.

This way of working considers you as a whole person. Together we will find a balance in processing what feels hard while building on your strengths.

Some of the things we might choose to focus on could be:

Developing a better relationship with yourself - this can include focusing on self worth or becoming clearer about your sense of self and/or cultural belonging.

Becoming clearer on what you want from relationships - and communicating boundaries without feeling guilty.

Understanding the roots of anxiety, sadness or overwhelm.

Coming to terms with loss - whether that's a bereavement, phase of life or relationship.

In a world of AI, social media, dating apps and a challenging job market I'd like to offer you a space to slow down and process your experiences. So that you can develop a greater sense of inner clarity which enables you to live a life that feels authentically aligned with your values.

My first session

The first session will be an opportunity for you to tell me more about what has brought you here and what you want to gain from therapy.

We will also cover some practical aspects around how confidentiality works and things like taking time off.

I warmly welcome questions at any point, whether that's an initial email, our consultation, first session or as the work evolves.

I believe that therapy works best from a place of trust, care and respect.

I hope that this page has given you a sense of me and my practice. If anything resonates I'd love to hear more about you.
