About me and my therapy practice
A calm, reflective space is offered where you can begin to make sense of what you’re experiencing, at your own pace.
People often come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about themselves or their relationships. This may include experiences such as anxiety, depression, stress, bereavement and loss, life transitions, relationship difficulties, or the lasting impact of earlier experiences, including trauma such as abuse and post-traumatic stress. There is no need for everything to be clearly defined at the outset. Sometimes starting with how things feel is enough.
The work is grounded in integrative counselling and psychotherapy, drawing on different therapeutic perspectives to meet you as an individual rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach. At the heart of the practice is a person-centred and relational way of being, where you are met with empathy, respect, and without judgement.
Alongside this, ideas from cognitive and behavioural approaches may be introduced to help make sense of patterns in thinking, feeling, and responding. An awareness of how earlier life experiences shape present-day patterns is also central to the work.
A collaborative approach is central, offering both a steady therapeutic presence and gentle exploration. The pace of therapy is guided by what feels manageable and safe, without pressure to move further or faster than feels right.
Practice description
Online therapy is offered for adults, providing a consistent and confidential space where you can speak openly and be heard without judgement.
Sessions take place via secure video and are usually held weekly at a regular time. Each session lasts 50 minutes. Sessions are structured yet remain flexible, depending on what you bring. The intention is to provide a steady and reliable therapeutic space where you can explore what feels most important at a pace that feels manageable.
The first session offers an opportunity to begin understanding what has brought you to therapy and what you might need from the process. There is no expectation to share everything at once. The work develops collaboratively, finding a way of working that feels right for you.
An integrative approach is used, drawing on person-centred, cognitive behavioural, and relational perspectives. This allows for exploration of both present experiences and underlying patterns that may be shaping emotional responses and relationships. Where helpful, gentle and practical strategies may be introduced to support reflection, emotional regulation, and change.
Confidentiality is an essential part of the therapeutic relationship. Work is conducted in accordance with the ethical framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and privacy is respected at all times, with the usual professional exceptions relating to safety.
You are welcome to get in touch if you are considering therapy and would like to explore whether this feels like the right fit for you.
My first session
A brief 15-minute introductory call is offered prior to beginning therapy. This provides an opportunity to discuss what has brought you to therapy and to consider whether the therapeutic fit feels right. There is no charge for this initial call.
If you decide to proceed, the first session offers a space to begin exploring your experiences in more depth and to consider what you might need from therapy. There is no need to have everything clearly defined at the outset.
The work is collaborative, with the focus and direction shaped together over time. Where appropriate, areas for reflection between sessions may be agreed, supporting a deeper level of engagement in the process.
The pace of therapy is guided by what feels comfortable and manageable for you.
