About me and my therapy practice
Feeling anxious, overwhelmed or stuck? Struggling with relationships or big life questions?
I am a Gestalt psychotherapeutic counsellor offering sessions in-person and online in Cambridge, London and Mexico City.
I offer therapy in English and Spanish.
My background in music and ethnographic research shapes how I listen closely and without judgement to how people experience their lives, relationships and identities.
In counselling, I offer a confidential, supportive space where we can work collaboratively and without judgement to explore at your own pace whatever feels important to you. Rather than interpreting your past, we focus on making sense of how things are now so that new possibilities and choices can emerge.
I welcome clients from all backgrounds and aim to create an affirming and anti-oppressive space for everyone.
I have particular experience working with academics, high-achievers and people exploring questions around identity, gender and sexuality. I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and abide by their ethical framework.
If you are curious about whether therapy together might be helpful, you are welcome to get in touch to arrange an initial conversation.
Practice description
My core training is in Gestalt therapy, and I work integratively drawing on different therapeutic approaches depending on what may be most helpful.
Gestalt therapy focuses on increasing awareness of how we experience ourselves, others and the world in the present moment. Rather than analysing your past, we pay attention to how things feel and unfold in the present. I will work with you collaboratively, creatively and without judgement to create a space where you can explore your experiences. This awareness can open up new possibilities and widen your choices going forward.
In a typical session, we move at your own pace, so there is space for curiosity and reflection. We would usually begin with whatever feels most present or important in your life. Sometimes this may be talking through current situations or relationships; at other times we may slow down and notice how emotions, thoughts and bodily responses are experienced in the moment. And at other times, we may explore patterns in relationships or ways of experiencing emotions and situations.
My aim is not to interpret or diagnose you, but to support a process of awareness and understanding that can open new possibilities for how you experience yourself, your relationships and your life.
