About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Morwenna. I work with adults navigating periods of change or uncertainty, when life feels unsettled or overwhelming. This might relate to work, relationships, identity, or experiences that have affected how safe or confident you feel in yourself. I offer time and space to reflect, make sense of your own experience, and begin to find a way forward.
You may be feeling unsettled or unsure of yourself, especially if something in your life has shifted or no longer feels right. Familiar ways of coping may not be working as they once did, and there can be a sense of being caught between what was and what comes next, unsure what to hold onto or how to move forward.
I offer a calm, relaxed space where you can talk openly and feel supported as you explore what you’re going through. We can gently begin to notice what has changed, including patterns or old stories that may no longer fit, and untangle thoughts and feelings that feel confusing or heavy. When you’re feeling overwhelmed or burnt out, it can be hard to make sense of what you’re going through or to find the right words. There’s no expectation that you arrive knowing where to start.
My approach is warm, gentle, and straightforward. We can take things at a pace that feels manageable, with attention to what feels most important for you now. If this sounds like it might be a good fit, you’re welcome to get in touch for an initial phone or online consultation, to ask questions and see how it feels to talk together.
Practice description
I am a qualified counsellor, and my core approach is person-centred, meaning our work is rooted in a respectful, collaborative relationship where your experiences are central. Alongside this, I may draw on CBT to support you with present-day difficulties, such as unhelpful thought patterns or feeling stuck, and Transactional Analysis to explore relationships, including how past experiences may be influencing you in the present and the stories you carry about yourself. These approaches are used flexibly, in response to what you bring, rather than as a fixed way of working.
I offer a warm, reflective space built on trust and care, where you are met as a whole person rather than a problem to be fixed. I work alongside you, listening carefully to your experiences and life history, with you deciding what feels important to talk about and when. You won’t be judged or labelled, or told how you should feel, but met with curiosity and attentiveness, which can be especially helpful when things feel confusing, tangled, or hard to hold on your own.
Therapy with me is not about quick fixes. Instead, it’s about developing understanding, self-awareness, and compassion for yourself, so that change can happen in a way that feels meaningful and sustainable. We’ll also check in regularly about how the work is feeling for you, so the therapy stays responsive and aligned with what you need, rather than following a set path.
My first session
The first session is a space to meet, begin talking, and gently ease into the therapy process. I understand that taking this step can feel daunting, and I aim to offer a welcoming, calm environment where you can arrive just as you are.
We’ll take time to talk about what has brought you to counselling, any questions or concerns you might have, and what you’re hoping for, at a pace that feels comfortable for you. There’s no expectation that you arrive knowing exactly what you want to talk about, and no pressure to share more than feels right.
I’ll also explain a little about how I work and cover any practical or contractual details, so you know what to expect. The first session isn’t an assessment, and there’s no need to prepare or complete lengthy forms in advance.
My hope is that our first meeting feels steady and supportive, giving you space to settle and notice how it feels to talk together.
