About me and my therapy practice

You might look like you’re coping on the outside, yet inside feel anxious, overwhelmed, or no longer quite yourself. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, stress, low self-esteem or a sense of feeling stuck, particularly during times of change such as menopause, relationship shifts, career transitions, or periods of re-evaluating who you are and what you want.

I also work with people experiencing infertility, fertility treatment, miscarriage and pregnancy loss. These experiences can be incredibly difficult to navigate, and may bring grief, uncertainty, anger, guilt or changes in how you see yourself. You may find yourself carrying feelings that are difficult to put into words, or simply need somewhere to talk about what you’ve been through.

Many of the people I work with are capable and used to being the one others rely on. You may have managed responsibilities and difficult situations for years, but something now feels harder to carry. Perhaps you’re finding it difficult to switch off, second-guessing yourself, or noticing that the confidence you once had doesn’t feel as accessible as it did.

I’m calm, thoughtful and down to earth, and I aim to create a relationship where you can speak openly and begin to understand what’s happening. Together, we can explore the patterns and expectations that may have shaped how you see yourself and relate to others. Over time, this can help you feel more grounded, develop greater self-understanding and make decisions that feel more in keeping with who you are and what matters to you.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, particularly if you’re used to managing things on your own. You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what you want to talk about, and there’s no expectation to have everything figured out before you begin.

I offer an initial phone or online consultation so we can talk briefly about what you’re looking for, answer any questions you may have, and give you a sense of whether working together feels right for you.

Practice description

My practice is rooted in a person-centred approach, where the therapeutic relationship is central and your experience guides our work. Rather than following a fixed formula, we focus on what matters most to you. For many people, this eases the pressure to have all the answers and allows things to unfold more naturally.

Therapy offers a place where you don’t have to perform or arrive with solutions. Together, we can make sense of what feels confusing and begin to explore what sits beneath the pressure to cope. I aim to offer a warm, reflective environment built on trust, where you are met as a whole person rather than something to be fixed.

Alongside this relational foundation, I draw on CBT to support present-day challenges such as anxiety, overthinking, and feeling stuck, and Transactional Analysis to explore relational patterns, including how past experiences may still be shaping how you see yourself and respond to others. I use these approaches flexibly, guided by what feels most helpful for you.

The aim isn’t to fix you, but to support a deeper understanding of yourself so that any changes feel grounded, meaningful, and self-directed. We’ll also check in regularly about how the work is feeling, so therapy stays responsive and aligned with your needs.

My first session

Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially if you’re unsure where to begin or how to put things into words. The first session is simply a chance for us to meet at your pace. You don’t need to prepare anything or have a clear explanation, we can start wherever feels easiest for you.

I’ll gently support you to talk about what’s been going on and what feels most important right now. There’s no pressure to share more than you feel ready to, and we can take things slowly.

I’ll also explain how I work and answer any questions, so you know what to expect. You’re not committing to ongoing therapy by coming along, it’s an opportunity to see how it feels to talk together.

My aim is that you leave feeling a little more at ease, understood, and clearer about whether this feels like the right next step for you.
