About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative and existential psychotherapist, working with people aged 16+ in London.
My work draws on a range of therapeutic approaches while recognising that no two people experience life in the same way. Rather than seeing people as fitting neatly into boxes, my way of working is based in the belief that we are all complex, contradictory, and uniquely shaped by our relationships and experiences.
Therapy offers a space to explore your experiences in depth. Together, we can bring clarity and understanding to the parts of your life that feel confusing, difficult, or isolating, and make space for the possibility that things can be different. A trusting therapeutic relationship is essential to this process, and so I place great emphasis on building a relationship that feels safe, collaborative and trustworthy.
Existential psychotherapy is grounded in existential-phenomenological philosophy. It is an approach that focuses on exploring your experiences, relationships and emotions with curiosity and understanding. It also aims to foster a greater sense of agency, allowing you to live your life more authentically and make choices that matter to you.
My practice is also integrative; I sometimes draw on other therapeutic approaches where they may be helpful such as elements of DBT, psychoanalytic psychotherapy and trauma-informed therapies. This allows me to collaboratively adapt therapy to each person I work with.
I work with people with many different experiences, including but not limited to: depression, anxiety, addiction, loss, abuse, trauma (including complex trauma), a sense of meaninglessness, identity difficulties, disordered eating, body image, relationship issues, family issues, low self-esteem, suicidal thoughts, self harm, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder and neurodivergence.
Practice description
My practice is based at City Road Therapy in Islington and I also offer online sessions.
I trained at Regent's University London, where I completed an MA in Psychotherapy and Counselling. My training was integrative for two years, followed by one year's training in existential psychotherapy.
Prior to training as a psychotherapist, I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a Master of Science in Psychology. I therefore draw on psychotherapeutic, psychological and philosophical principles in my work.
I have particular experience supporting adults and young people who have experienced abuse, neglect or confusing and unstable relationships; disordered eating; addiction and trauma (including complex trauma). I also have extensive experience working with people who have been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and people who are neurodivergent.
Outside of my private practice, I facilitate therapeutic groups for Woman's Trust, a charity supporting women who are affected by domestic abuse.
My first session
Introductory call: This is a free 20-minute conversation either via video call or phone call to discuss what brings you to therapy and how we might work together.
If we decide to start working together, we will agree on a time to meet at the same time each week. In our first 50-minute session, I'll ask about your life, your relationships, and what you're hoping for from therapy. You are also welcome to ask me any questions you may have, and we can explore whether working together feels like a good fit.
