About me and my therapy practice
I offer a non-judgemental space where we can explore and make sense of your emotions and life experiences, and in doing so, open up new possibilities for the future.
I work with people from a range of backgrounds and with many different experiences. Some are struggling significantly with navigating everyday life because of depression, anxiety, addiction or trauma. Others may appear to be coping well on the surface, but have been shaken by a recent life event, are carrying painful childhood experiences or feel overwhelmed by emotions they cannot easily make sense of. Whatever it is you bring to therapy, I aim to create a space in which you can express yourself and feel genuinely seen and understood.
Therapy is different for everyone. For some, it is the first space that feels safe enough to tell someone how they are feeling without fear of judgement. It can also be a place to develop healthier ways of coping with intense emotions, process painful experiences, or gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships. Together, we work towards greater clarity, self-compassion, and the freedom to make new choices.
I have particular experience supporting adults and young people who have experienced abuse, neglect or confusing and unstable relationships; disordered eating; relationship difficulties; addiction and complex trauma. I also have significant experience working with people who have been diagnosed with Borderline Personality disorder and people who are neurodivergent.
I have worked in mental health since 2020 across various settings including the NHS, charitable organisations, private mental health services and low-cost counselling services, supporting people with a range of experiences and backgrounds. I have worked in both short-term mental health crisis settings, as well as longer term residential and non-residential therapeutic services.
Practice description
I am a qualified, BACP-registered psychotherapist and trained at Regent’s University London, where I completed a three-year MA in Psychotherapy and Counselling.
My training was integrative, including psychoanalytic, humanistic and existential therapies and had a strong emphasis on relational and phenomenological psychotherapy. In practice, this means that I draw on a number of different ways of working to help support each person I see. Everyone is different, and so it is important that therapy can adapt.
I am also trained in a trauma-informed approach, and have a deep understanding of various forms of traumatic experiences, how they can impact us and ways that therapy can help.
Prior to training as a psychotherapist, I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a Master of Science in Psychology. I therefore draw on psychotherapeutic, psychological and philosophical principles in my work.
My first session
Finding the right therapist can feel difficult, and it is essential that you feel comfortable with the person you choose to work with. I offer a free 20-minute video consultation so that we can explore whether working together feels like the right fit.
Please feel free to reach out if you would like to discuss how therapy could support you.
