About me and my therapy practice
Welcome. I’m really glad you’re here.
Do you feel like your mind rarely switches off - replaying conversations, worrying about things that haven’t even happened yet, and struggling to fully relax?
Perhaps you’re the one who keeps everything going. The steady, reliable person others turn to. From the outside you seem capable and strong, but inside you may feel stretched thin, quietly overwhelmed, or unsure when you last had space just for yourself.
Many of the people I work with are used to holding space for others - at work, in relationships, in family life - yet don’t often have a place where they can put everything down.
Therapy can be that place. A calm, accepting space where you don’t have to perform, manage or hold it all together. A space where you can pause, reflect and simply be and perhaps notice your shoulders soften or your breathing slow as you begin to feel heard.
I’m Tonya, and my work is shaped by lived experience. I know how isolating difficult periods can feel, and I offer a steady, compassionate space where you can explore whatever feels important to you.
My approach is person-centred, which means you guide the direction of our work. I don’t see myself as the expert on your life - you are. I trust that you already hold the capacity for growth and understanding within you. My role is to walk alongside you with empathy and care.
There is no need to filter yourself or have everything figured out. We move at a pace that feels right for you.
Over time, many people find that having this space allows something to shift naturally - feeling less on edge, clearer about what matters, and more able to trust their own voice.
If something here resonates, you’re very welcome to get in touch. You don’t have to carry everything alone.
Practice description
Who I Work With
People come to counselling for many reasons.
Some feel anxious or overwhelmed.
Some feel disconnected from themselves.
Others simply want a place where they don’t have to manage anyone else’s feelings.
Whatever brings you here is welcome.
Next Steps
I offer a free 20-minute consultation so you can see whether this space feels right for you, with no pressure to commit.
You don’t need the perfect words - a simple message is enough.
The free 20-minute consultation is a gentle conversation where you can ask questions and see how it feels to talk together.
Sessions are £45 for 50 minutes.
Online appointments are available during the day and evening.
If I’m full, I offer a waiting list.
If something here resonates, you’re welcome to reach out.
You don’t have to carry everything alone.
My first session
Our first session is there to give us a steady starting point. We’ll spend most of the time going through a gentle questionnaire together. This helps me get a clearer picture of you, your background, and what’s brought you to counselling. It’s simply a way for me to understand you better so I can support you in a way that feels right for you.
This first session isn’t about diving straight into difficult things. It’s about slowing down, building safety, and making sure we have the context we need. By the end, you’ll have had space to share what feels important, and I’ll have a better sense of how to walk alongside you in the sessions ahead.
I offer sessions at a pace that works best for you. Some people find a weekly rhythm supportive, especially when exploring anxiety, relationship patterns, or the impact of earlier experiences. Others prefer to meet more or less often, depending on what feels manageable and helpful. Together, we can find a frequency that supports your wellbeing, builds trust at a comfortable pace, and gives you the space you need to process whatever arises.
