About me and my therapy practice
Over my time as a therapist, I’ve seen again and again that, given the right conditions, people have a natural capacity to move through their difficulties and toward growth. I don’t see my role as “fixing” you, but as walking alongside you while you reconnect with your own inner resources, wisdom and resilience.
My approach is grounded in genuine care, respect and curiosity. I’m deeply interested in who you are and how you experience your world. I aim to offer a non-judgmental space where all of your thoughts, feelings and questions are welcome.
Alongside my broader counselling work, I am also a qualified adoption counsellor and hold a Certificate in Adoption Counselling, provided by the Albany Centre in partnership with Barnardo’s. This training enables me to offer sensitive, informed support around adoption-related issues, including identity, attachment, loss, contact and the complex emotions that can arise for adopted adults, birth families and adoptive families.
I also have a particular interest in existential themes. Many people, at some point, find themselves wrestling with big questions around identity, purpose, isolation, freedom, or the reality of life’s finiteness. These can feel daunting or uncomfortable, yet I believe that exploring them directly can be deeply liberating and clarifying. I am comfortable sitting with clients in these deeper conversations and helping them find meaning and personal direction through them.
Ultimately I enjoy helping people be reminded of how capable they are in understanding their own issues and the comforting and empowering sense that accompanies that work. This is what my training in Person Centred Therapy allows me to help facilitate with my clients. I aim to be the catalyst to help you help yourself.
Practice description
My therapeutic approach is collaborative and tailored to you. I bring presence, warmth and honesty, and I welcome the same from you in whatever form feels authentic. There is no “right” way to be in our sessions—just your way.
Seeking support can feel like a big step, whether you’re facing a specific challenge, feeling stuck, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply. I believe that therapy works best when you feel safe enough to bring your whole self into the room—thoughts, feelings, questions, confusions and all.
A key focus for me is personal agency. Life can sometimes leave us feeling powerless or disconnected from the sense that we have choice. I’m passionate about supporting people to reconnect with their ability to influence their lives in thoughtful, authentic ways—so that decisions come from a place of self-awareness and alignment, rather than fear, habit or external expectation.
If you’re curious about working together, I’d be glad to hear from you. Reaching out can be the first step toward creating a more grounded, empowered and meaningful life, and you don’t have to do it alone.
When you feel ready, we can arrange an initial conversation to see how therapy with me might feel for you.
I look forward to meeting you, just as you are.
My first session
I offer a free of charge 20 minute online session. This is where we can get to know each other and you can provide a brief overview of what you would like to bring to our work together.
After that, the pace and content of each session is lead by you. We progress at whatever speed feels comfortable and simply see what comes up. We will agree to look at everything without judgement and instead, work hard to instil a sense of curiosity.
I don't offer limited sessions and prefer to work in an open ended way; simply meaning you carry on for as long as you feel you need to.
