Availability

I am available face to face in Alderley Edge, Cheshire Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.  I  have limited evenings and weekend sessions available on request.  When face to face is not possible for you I can offer online therapy and can be flexible on times.  I am happy to discuss your availability and fit in around your schedule if I can.

About me and my therapy practice

I founded Holden Place Therapy to create a calm, reflective space for those living with grief, loss, trauma, and the complex emotions that come with life’s inevitable changes. My vision brings together warmth, integrity, and professional care to support real, meaningful change.

My therapeutic work has a person-centred foundation, with an integrative approach that draws on different perspectives to suit each person’s individual needs. This means I tailor my methods to you, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.

I specialise in supporting clients through grief and loss, trauma-informed therapy, and broader emotional wellbeing challenges. Whether you’re navigating bereavement, processing difficult experiences, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life’s demands, I offer a space where you can pause, reflect, and begin to heal.

You will receive more than comfort and an empathetic ear. Through deep listening, gentle challenge, and authentic connection, our work together creates space for clarity, strength, and a renewed sense of meaning and purpose. I believe therapy, at its best, is a place to pause, make sense of experience, and reconnect with what matters most.

Together, we can explore what helps you feel steadier and more resilient as you navigate your path forward. My approach is grounded in genuine understanding and professional expertise, meeting you exactly where you are without judgment.

I work from a beautiful, soothing, fully private room in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, with limited availability for evenings and weekends to accommodate different schedules. If face to face is not possible I can offer online.

Practice description

Initially I offer a free 20 minute telephone or online consultation where we can discuss what brings you to therapy, explore whether we’re a good fit, and answer any questions you may have.

I work with adults (18+) experiencing grief, loss, trauma, and the emotional challenges that arise during life’s difficult transitions. My practice serves clients across Alderley Edge, Wilmslow, Prestbury, Knutsford, Macclesfield, Congleton, Stockport, and Greater Manchester.

Sessions take place in a calm, fully private therapy room in the heart of Alderley Edge village, with easy access by car (village parking available) or train (5-minute walk from the station). The space is designed to feel soothing and safe, allowing you to relax and focus on your therapeutic journey.

I offer both short-term and longer-term therapy, depending on your needs and goals. Each session is 50 minutes and I recommend weekly sessions at the same time, but this is only a recommendation.

My integrative, person-centred approach means I draw from various therapeutic modalities to create a bespoke experience tailored to you. I combine empathetic listening with thoughtful challenge, helping you gain clarity, build resilience, and reconnect with your sense of purpose.

I hold a BA (Hons) in English Literature and a Level 4 Diploma in counselling and I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), committed to maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards. I engage in regular supervision and continuous professional development to ensure I provide the best possible care. I also work as a sessional counsellor for Stockport Women's Centre and for NHS Macclesfield Bereavement Support Services.
