About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor supporting adults with stress, burnout, trauma, relationship difficulties, loss and life transitions — with a particular focus on professionals in high-pressure roles.
Many of my clients are outwardly capable but privately struggling. If that resonates, therapy offers a confidential space to step back, explore what is really going on, and begin to find greater clarity and balance.
I have extensive experience supporting survivors of abuse, including childhood sexual abuse. This work is always led by you — at your pace, with care and without judgement.
My integrative approach means I draw on a range of modalities to meet your individual needs, combining reflective work with practical strategies for coping and meaningful change.
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over 20 years in the corporate sector managing international client relationships and cross-border projects. I understand from the inside what it means to carry real professional responsibility — and the personal cost that can come with it.
In addition to my counselling qualifications, I am a qualified Executive Coach, having completed the Professional Certificate in Executive Coaching at Henley Business School. This dual training enables me to integrate counselling and coaching where appropriate, supporting clients not only to explore and heal from past experiences, but also to develop resilience, gain greater self-awareness, and achieve meaningful personal and professional goals.
Practice description
My practice offers a warm, inclusive and confidential space for exploration, reflection and personal growth.
I provide trauma-aware, relational counselling tailored to your needs and at a pace that feels safe for you. Whether you are seeking support with emotional wellbeing, relationship patterns, workplace stress, or life transitions, my focus is to help you feel heard, valued and supported.
Below is an example of what is like working with me from a client's perspective:
"Yan's warmth and humanity provides a safe and accepting environment in which I feel able to open up and expose the maelstrom of emotions that I had buried and her rigorous analytical approach puts those feelings into context and perspective. At the heart of our relationship is an honesty that she enables. Our sessions always leave me feeling lighter: from having shared my experiences; from feeling heard and acknowledged, from being understood or, when things have been complex, from knowing that she is working with me to untangle everything. She gives me confidence in the future."
Drawing on my background in both counselling and coaching, I work collaboratively to help you build understanding, develop coping strategies and move towards meaningful and sustainable change. My aim is to support you in strengthening resilience, improving relationships, and creating greater clarity and balance in your life and work.

About me and my therapy practice
Are you a professional who appears to be holding it all together on the outside, while privately feeling exhausted, overwhelmed or stuck? If so, you are not alone — and therapy can help.
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and MBACP Registered Member supporting adults with anxiety, stress, burnout, low self-esteem, trauma, relationship difficulties, loss and significant life or career transitions. I have a particular focus on professionals in high-pressure roles.
Having spent over 20 years in the corporate world managing international relationships and complex projects, I know from experience what it means to carry real professional responsibility — and the personal toll that can quietly accumulate alongside it. I understand the particular pressure of needing to appear capable and in control, even when you are struggling.
I also have extensive experience supporting survivors of abuse, including childhood sexual abuse. This is sensitive, trauma-informed work, always led by you — at your pace and without judgement.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches tailored to your individual needs. Together we can explore how past experiences may be shaping present patterns, while developing practical tools for resilience, self-awareness and lasting change.
In addition to my counselling qualifications, I am also a qualified Executive Coach, having completed the Professional Certificate in Executive Coaching at Henley Business School. This dual training enables me to integrate counselling and coaching where appropriate, supporting clients not only to explore and heal from past experiences, but also to develop resilience, gain greater self-awareness, and achieve meaningful personal and professional goals.
Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting. I offer a free initial consultation so you can get a sense of how I work before making any commitment.

I provide trauma-aware, relational counselling tailored to your individual needs and at a pace that feels safe and supportive for you. Whether you are seeking support with emotional wellbeing, relationship patterns, workplace stress or life transitions, my focus is on helping you feel heard, valued and understood.
My work offers a reflective space for thoughtful exploration, supporting clients who are interested not only in managing immediate difficulties but also in developing deeper self-understanding and meaningful long-term change.

My aim is to help you strengthen resilience, improve relationships, and develop greater clarity and balance in both your personal life and professional role.
My first session
Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, so I aim to make the process as comfortable and straightforward as possible.
I offer a free first session which is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for you to talk about what has brought you to counselling. We will explore what you hope to gain from therapy and discuss how we might work together. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you feel ready to — there’s no pressure or expectation.
This initial meeting also gives you a chance to experience my way of working and decide whether you feel comfortable with me as your counsellor. I believe that a good therapeutic relationship is at the heart of effective counselling, so it’s important that you feel safe, heard and respected.
Practical aspects such as confidentiality, session frequency and fees will also be discussed. By the end of the first session, we can agree on the best way forward — whether that’s continuing for a few sessions or working together longer-term.
I offer in person and online sessions. I’m happy to answer any questions before we start so that you can feel confident and supported from the beginning.
