About me and my therapy practice

I work with adults, particularly men in their 30s and beyond, who are carrying sustained pressure across work, relationships, and family life. Often, this is not about a crisis but about the accumulation of responsibilities, expectations, and pressures that are not easily visible to others.

Race, culture, and social context are often part of this picture. For many Black men, visibility, scrutiny, and workplace dynamics sit alongside everyday demands, shaping how pressure is carried and how much space there is to pause or be understood.

Alongside my clinical training, I bring over 25 years of experience in business and leadership environments. My work is shaped by an understanding of work-related pressure and responsibility, and the gap that can open between external capability and internal strain.

My approach is grounded in person-centred therapy and supported by existential and ACT-informed ways of working. Sessions are collaborative and non-judgmental. We focus on making sense of what you are carrying, how it is affecting you, and what needs attention now.

In our work, we may explore:

  • Ongoing pressure at work and responsibility for others
  • Relationship strain, distance, or repeated patterns
  • Family expectations and competing demands
  • Feeling capable on the outside but depleted underneath
  • Questions of meaning, direction, and sustainability

Practice description

In our sessions, we focus on understanding what you are carrying and how this is shaping your day-to-day life, relationships, and sense of balance. The work is collaborative and thoughtful, creating space to explore pressures that may be difficult to name or hold on your own, and to clarify and address your needs.

Together, we may explore:

  • Ongoing pressure at work and the weight of responsibility and expectation
  • Strain, distance, or repeated patterns in relationships with partners, family, or others
  • The experience of holding more than others can see, with limited space to pause or reflect

My first session

Before booking a first session, I offer a 15-minute introductory video call. This provides an opportunity to find out about your needs, ask any initial questions, and for me to share further details about how I work.

If you are happy to proceed after this, we can book an initial session. In that first session, we will explore your needs in more depth and agree on how we work together to create the right space to address them.

There is no expectation to arrive with clear answers or a defined agenda. We begin with what feels most relevant for you at this point and work at a pace that feels manageable.

In the first session, we typically:

  • Explore your needs and what you are currently dealing with
  • Clarify what you would like support with
  • Agree on how we might work together going forward

At the end of the session, we can decide together whether continuing feels helpful and how you would like to proceed. There is no obligation to commit beyond that point.
