About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Amalia. I’m an integrative counsellor, which basically means I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I draw from different methods depending on what you need, rather than relying on what a textbook suggests should work.

I’ve worked with people facing all kinds of things—grief, loss, the messiness of relationships, identity questions, and the type of life changes that turn everything upside down. I also have experience supporting people who are living with incurable or life-limiting illnesses, and those who are grieving someone they’ve lost. These are the conversations many people avoid, but I believe they’re some of the most important ones we can have.

My style is honest, grounded, and human. You don’t have to pretend to be okay with me. Therapy isn’t about fixing you—it’s about making space for whatever you’re carrying, without judgment.

I’m also comfortable working with clients whose lives and experiences don’t always fit the “norm.” If you’re exploring kink, non-traditional relationships, or feel like your story doesn’t quite match the standard script, I offer a space where that’s not just accepted—it’s welcomed.

Practice description

Therapy is a space where you get to say the things you might not say anywhere else.

It’s not about being ‘fixed’ or told what to do. It’s about having someone alongside you while you figure things out in your own time, at your own pace. Sometimes that means talking about things that hurt, or things you’ve never said out loud before. Sometimes it means sitting in silence for a bit, or just trying to make sense of what’s going on in your head.

I’m not here to give you all the answers—but I’ll ask good questions, help you notice patterns, and stay with you while you explore what matters.

You don’t need to have a ‘big’ reason to come to therapy. Maybe you’re feeling stuck, or lost, or like things just aren’t quite right. Maybe something happened and you’re still trying to catch up with it emotionally. Or maybe you’re just tired of carrying it all on your own.

Whatever you’re bringing, we start where you are. Together we’ll build a space where you can be honest, even if it’s messy, even if it’s complicated. Especially then.

My first session

The first session lasts up to an hour is charged at £75 and gives us a chance to get to know each other a bit. You can talk about what’s brought you to counselling and what’s going on for you right now. I’ll ask a few gentle questions to understand your background and what kind of support you’re looking for.

It’s not a test or an interview—just a conversation. There’s no pressure to decide anything straight away. You’re welcome to take some time after the session to think about whether it feels like a good fit.

If for any reason I’m not the right person to support you, I’ll be honest about that—and I’ll do my best to help you find someone who is.
