About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Nicolette, a Humanistic and Integrative Counsellor and Creative Arts Practitioner.
I offer a warm, relational, and creative space for children, young people and adults to explore their experiences at their own pace. My approach is grounded in empathy, curiosity, and respect, drawing on humanistic, relational, and creative methods, including imagery, sand tray and other expressive tools, to support self-understanding and emotional wellbeing.
I help clients navigate anxiety, loss, identity, relationships and life transitions. Alongside my therapeutic work, I also provide reflective spaces for professionals and schools, supporting emotional literacy and wellbeing across community settings.
Through my practice, Flourish Oxford, I aim to create a calm, grounded environment where growth happens in relationship, when we are truly seen, heard, and accepted.
Practice description
My practice is rooted in a Humanistic and Integrative approach that values the uniqueness of every person. I work collaboratively, offering a safe and compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences without judgement.
I draw on humanistic, relational and integrative frameworks, adapting my approach to meet your individual needs. This may include creative exploration, sand tray, parts work, attachment-informed practice, or reflective enquiry. Sessions unfold at your pace, supporting insight, emotional regulation and deeper self-connection.
I work with adults and young people on a wide range of emotional and relational concerns, including anxiety, self-esteem, loss, identity, and transitions. I also offer support for those navigating changes in appetite, body image or wellbeing, including GLP-1-related journeys, from a compassionate, whole-self perspective.
Flourish Oxford reflects my belief that meaningful change happens in relationship. Whether in person or online, I offer a steady, grounded space where you can reflect, grow and reconnect with yourself.
My first session
Before beginning counselling, I offer an initial video call or phone chat to help us get a sense of whether we might be a good fit to work together. This is a chance for you to share what’s brought you to counselling, ask any questions, and get a feel for my approach.
If we decide to continue, our first full session is an opportunity to begin getting to know one another and to explore your story in more depth, what feels important right now, what you hope to gain from counselling, and any goals or themes you’d like to focus on.
We’ll also take some time to go through the practicalities of working together, such as confidentiality, session structure, and my practice policies and to establish a shared understanding of how we’ll work together. My aim is to create a supportive space where you feel comfortable, informed, and respected from the very beginning of the process.
