About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m a counsellor who believes that meaningful change often begins with a genuine human connection. Life can be difficult at times, and there are moments when things feel overwhelming, confusing, or hard to carry alone. Having a space where you can speak openly and be met with care and understanding can make a real difference.
I offer a calm, thoughtful environment where we can take time to explore whatever is going on for you. Together we can make sense of your experiences, develop a deeper understanding of yourself, and consider new ways of moving forward.
Practice description
I aim to make counselling as flexible as possible, offering three ways of working: face-to-face sessions in Cobham, online appointments and telephone sessions. Some clients prefer one approach, while others find it helpful to combine them. This hybrid option allows sessions to adapt to the practical demands of life while maintaining continuity in the work.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin to understand what has brought you to counselling.
At the start, I usually guide us through a gentle assessment conversation. This is not a test or checklist, but a relaxed way of exploring what has been happening for you, the difficulties you may be facing, and what you hope to gain from therapy. It helps us begin to identify your needs and consider the shape the work might take.
You are welcome to share as much or as little as feels comfortable. Some people arrive with a clear idea of what they want to talk about, while others are still figuring things out. Both are completely fine.
Towards the end of the session, we can reflect on how the meeting has felt and discuss whether continuing to work together seems like the right fit. If you decide to proceed, we can also talk about practical arrangements such as frequency of sessions and any preferences you may have for how we work.
The first session is simply a starting point — a chance to begin making sense of things and to see whether the space feels helpful for you.
