About me and my therapy practice
In an ever-changing world filled with challenges, hope matters.
At Rising Hope, I believe therapy offers a safe, warm, non-judgemental and confidential space where people can pause, reflect, and truly be heard. It is a place to explore what feels difficult, understand yourself more deeply, and begin creating the change you desire.
I know how hard it can be to sit opposite someone and talk about the things that feel overwhelming, painful, or confusing. It takes courage. For me it’s a true privilege to build a therapeutic relationship and connection, to genuinely walk alongside my clients on their unique journeys.
As Carl Rogers said, “Change begins by being fully heard and accepted.”
This belief sits at the heart of my work.
I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, which means I draw on different therapeutic models to meet each client as an individual. While I am trained in approaches including CBT, attachment-informed therapy, ACT, and psychodynamic theory, my core modality is Person-Centred therapy.
This means our work is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard (non judgemental). I believe that healing and growth happen within a genuine, collaborative relationship, where you feel accepted and understood. Integration allows flexibility, but the therapeutic relationship remains central research consistently shows it is one of the most important factors in meaningful change.

Practice description
IN PERSON THERAPY - Counselling and psychotherapy provide a supportive space to explore thoughts, feelings, relationships, and life experiences at your own pace. It is not about being told what to do, but about being supported to gain clarity, develop insight, and reconnect with your own inner resources. Through a trusting therapeutic relationship, many people find greater self-understanding, emotional resilience, and a renewed sense of direction. Therapy Room, Thames Ditton, Surrey.
ONLINE THERAPY - I offer a confidential online service via Zoom or Google meets. While traditional in-person counselling offers a valuable service, online counselling can provide unique benefits that might make it a great fit for you.
Convenience and Flexibility: Schedule sessions at your own pace, from the
comfort and privacy of your own home. This can be especially helpful for busy
schedules, childcare needs, or those living in remote areas.
Reducing Stigma: Sometimes the act of going to a therapist's office can feel daunting. Online counselling allows you to address your concerns in a familiar and safe space, potentially making it easier to open up.
Accessibility: Online platforms can overcome limitations that might prevent you from attending in-person sessions, such as mobility issues or social anxiety.
But what about the quality of care?
Research shows that online counselling can be just as effective as traditional therapy for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. I utilise various online methods to tailor our sessions to your needs, ensuring a supportive and productive environment.
If you're curious about how online counselling can support you, we can discuss this in an initial telephone conversation, and I can answer any questions you may have.
WALKING THERAPY - is just like traditional face-to-face therapy but, as the name suggests, we meet outside and walk side-by-side in nature instead of sitting opposite each other in a room.
My first session
I offer a free 20 minute phone call to talk through what I offer and what you need then we can book you in if you wish to. Our first session would begin with a verbal contract so you understand the confidentiality given to you, then a counselling assessment and evaluation form to understand your current situation, what you would like to focus on and the goals you may have, also checking in on your present mood and how you are feeling. So we can start where you need to and at your pace.
