About me and my therapy practice
As an integrative counsellor, I recognize the value of various approaches to therapy. As I have developed as a therapist I to lean into a psychodynamic approach to IFS (Internal Family Systems) for understanding of self and Existentialism for a wider context. I am currently doing a post graduate certificate in Psychedelic practice.
I am passionate about helping people take radical responsibility for their lives—not through blame, but by recognizing their capacity to choose how they respond and move forward. My aim is to help you understand and share your story, bringing deeper feelings and insights into awareness.
Together, we will explore how your story shapes your sense of self, purpose, and way of living.
Above all, I look offer an encouraging therapeutic relationship in which you feel seen and valued.
Practice description
This work often begins with facing vulnerability, pain and loss, and recognizing the limitations of the stories we have internalized about ourselves. That is not easy. I want to commend you for having the courage it takes simply to consider beginning this process.
We all live within stories—both individual and collective. The way you perceive yourself, other people, and your circumstances is the most powerful influence on your life, within your control. It shapes not only your present experience, but also the direction your life may take.
I aim to provide an environment in which you can become more aware of the unconscious narratives you may have absorbed about yourself and the world. By bringing these stories into awareness, you can begin to recognize how how they are influencing your experience of life.
“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”
— Carl Jung
Recognizing the influence of feelings such as shame, judgement, fear, resentment, guilt, regret, anger, and loss can reveal limiting beliefs that have developed around them. Awareness of these can then create the possibility of responding differently and choosing new ways forward.
This is usually a gradual process that involves;
• recognizing and accepting what is present;
• establishing healthy boundaries
• setting clear intentions;
• daring to surrender with hope
• cultivating faith and gratitude.
I see aim of therapy is not to remove life’s difficulties, but to develop a greater capacity to carry them well and to find meaning and insight. Change often begins when the pain and limitations of holding on to an old perspective become greater than the fear of letting it go.
I seek to offer the safety needed to recognize beliefs and the space to explore and integrate new perspectives equipping you to live with greater awareness, intention, and hope.
