About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Meg. Whatever has brought you here - whether it’s something specific you want to focus on, or a more general sense of things not feeling quite right - I wish you a very warm welcome. I offer a compassionate, collaborative, and non-judgemental space in which we can work to make sense of what feels hard, uncertain, or even unknown.

Working with a therapist can be a big step, so going at your own pace and exploring what feels most important to you is at the heart of my practice. Above all, I believe that the therapeutic relationship offers a safe space where you can feel accepted as you come to a better understanding of yourself. When we feel truly seen, heard, valued, and supported, it becomes possible to work through what’s troubling us and move towards a more rewarding, authentic way of life.

I support clients as they face challenges around relationships (romantic, family, friendship), low-self esteem, identity, sexuality, health/illness, work stress and burn-out, immigration, grief and loss, depression, self-harm, trauma, and physical and sexual abuse. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked as a qualified dietitian, and I have a particular interest in working with issues around difficult relationships with food, diet culture, body image, and body shame.

I have experienced therapy both as a client and as a therapist, so I know that making the decision to reach out can be daunting. I feel confident that whatever has brought you thus far shows your remarkable resilience. Together, we can build that growth into whatever you wish it to be.

Practice description

I am an integrative therapist, working with both psychodynamic and person-centred approaches. This means that I am curious about your earliest experiences and how they might be impacting how you live your life today. Oftentimes our present challenges have deep roots into our past and addressing these past experiences can be a powerful way to create change in our present and future.

I also believe in the incredible potential that we have for growth and that given the right conditions, we have everything we need within ourselves to thrive. Above all, the power of therapy comes from the collaborative relationship between the client and therapist: in the safe space that we build together, you will find ways to better understand yourself, facilitating a more authentic and rewarding life.
