About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified counsellor and registered member of the BACP, offering couples counselling in a supportive and non-judgemental environment.

Relationships can be deeply meaningful but they can also become challenging at times. Partners may begin to feel misunderstood, disconnected, or caught in patterns of conflict that are difficult to resolve on their own. Seeking counselling can provide an opportunity to pause and explore what is happening in the relationship with the support of a neutral professional.

My approach is calm, respectful and collaborative. When working with couples, my role is not to take sides but to help both partners feel heard and understood. I aim to create a balanced space where each person can speak openly about their experiences, thoughts and feelings.

I believe that when couples are able to slow down difficult conversations and listen to each other in a different way, new understanding can begin to develop. Through this process, partners can start to recognise patterns in the relationship and explore healthier ways of communicating and responding to one another.

My aim is to provide a safe and supportive environment where couples can reflect on their relationship, gain greater understanding of each other, and work towards meaningful change.

Practice description

I offer online couples counselling for partners who would like support with relationship difficulties.

Couples often seek therapy when they find themselves repeating the same arguments, struggling to communicate effectively, or feeling emotionally distant from one another. In some cases there may have been a breakdown in trust, ongoing conflict, or uncertainty about the future of the relationship.

Couples counselling provides a structured space where both partners are able to talk openly about what has been happening in the relationship. Sessions focus on helping each person express their thoughts and feelings while also developing a clearer understanding of their partner’s perspective.

During therapy we may explore patterns of communication, emotional responses during conflict, and the ways in which misunderstandings can develop between partners. By slowing down these interactions, couples can begin to recognise patterns that may be keeping them stuck.

Many couples find that this process helps them communicate more openly, manage disagreements more constructively, and rebuild a sense of connection in the relationship.

Sessions take place online, allowing couples to attend from the comfort of their own space.

My first session

The first session is a 30-minute introductory meeting where we can begin exploring what has brought you to couples counselling.

This session gives both partners the opportunity to briefly share their experience of the relationship and the difficulties that may have led you to seek support. My aim is to provide a balanced and respectful space where each person feels able to speak openly and feels listened to without judgement.

During this initial meeting we may talk about the main concerns within the relationship, how difficulties tend to arise between you, and what each of you hopes counselling might help with. Some couples come to therapy wanting to improve communication, rebuild trust, or reconnect emotionally, while others may be feeling stuck in repeated conflict and are looking for support in understanding what is happening between them.

I will also explain how couples counselling sessions usually work and answer any questions you may have about the process.

The purpose of this first meeting is to see whether working together feels like the right fit for both of you. If you decide to continue, we can then arrange ongoing sessions where we will begin to explore the relationship patterns and communication difficulties you would like to focus on.

I offer online counselling for professionals experiencing stress, burnout, and work-related pressure.

Appointments are available on weekdays, including evening sessions, providing flexibility around work and other commitments. Sessions take place online via a secure video platform, allowing you to attend from a private and convenient location.

I work with individuals who may be managing demanding roles, high levels of responsibility, or ongoing pressure that has become difficult to switch off from.

Sessions are typically held on a weekly basis, although this can be discussed depending on your needs.

If you would like to arrange an initial session or have any questions, you are welcome to get in touch. I aim to respond to enquiries as soon as possible and will let you know my current availability when you contact me.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified counsellor and registered member of the BACP, offering therapy for professionals who are experiencing stress, burnout, and ongoing pressure.

Many of the people I work with are used to performing at a high level. They are responsible, capable, and able to manage demanding situations. From the outside, things may appear to be going well. However internally, there can be a constant mental load, difficulty switching off, and a sense of always needing to stay ahead.

Over time, this way of operating can lead to exhaustion, anxiety, and burnout.

My approach is calm, focused, and non-judgemental. I provide a space where you can step out of the pressure of your day-to-day responsibilities and begin to explore what is happening beneath the surface.

I understand that many professionals are not looking to step away from their work or lower their standards. Instead, the focus of therapy is on finding a more sustainable way of operating, one that allows you to continue performing without relying on constant pressure.

My aim is to support you in developing a clearer, more manageable way of working and thinking, so that your energy, focus, and wellbeing can be sustained over time.

Practice description

I offer counselling for professionals experiencing burnout, stress, perfectionism, and work-related pressure.

Many of the people I work with are in demanding roles where there is a high level of responsibility, expectation, and mental load. They are often capable and high-performing, but are beginning to feel the impact of sustained pressure.

This may show up as ongoing stress, overthinking, difficulty switching off, mental exhaustion, or a sense of always being “on”. Even when work is going well, it can feel like you are running on pressure rather than energy.

Therapy focuses on understanding the underlying patterns that keep this cycle in place. This is not about pushing through or adding more strategies, but about reducing the internal pressure that builds over time.

In our work together, we may explore:

– the patterns driving overthinking and constant mental activity

– the difficulty in switching off from work

– the internal pressure linked to performance and responsibility

– how stress and burnout are developing over time

As this begins to shift, many clients notice greater clarity in their thinking, improved decision-making, and an increased ability to switch off and recover.

The aim is to support you in continuing to perform and function well, but from a place that feels more sustainable, balanced, and less exhausting.

My first session

The first session is a 30-minute introductory meeting where we can begin exploring what has brought you to therapy.

This session provides an opportunity to talk about what you have been experiencing, including any stress, burnout, or pressure related to work or other areas of your life.

You may want to describe how things have been feeling day to day, such as difficulty switching off, ongoing mental load, or feeling constantly under pressure. There is no expectation to explain everything in detail; we can go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I will also explain how I work and how therapy can support you in addressing these patterns.

The aim of this first meeting is to see whether working together feels like the right fit. If you decide to continue, we can begin to explore the patterns contributing to stress and burnout, and work towards a more sustainable way of managing pressure and maintaining your wellbeing.

About me and my therapy practice

English-Speaking Therapist in Sevilla | Anxiety, Stress, Low Mood, Relationships & Life Transitions

Hello, I’m Catriona, a UK-trained, BACP-registered therapist based in Sevilla, offering online therapy to English-speaking adults across Spain, the UK, and Europe.

I support clients experiencing a broad range of emotional and relational challenges, including:

• anxiety, stress, and emotional overload
• low mood, sadness, or loss of direction
• low self-confidence, self-esteem concerns, or self-doubt
• relationship difficulties or recurring patterns
• struggles with communication or expressing needs
• overthinking, worry, or internal conflict
• feelings of isolation, loneliness, or cultural adjustment
• burnout, pressure, or constant tension
• identity shifts, life transitions, or uncertainty about the future

Living abroad can amplify emotional experiences, many people describe feeling capable and independent, while inside they quietly struggle with worry, disconnection, or self-doubt. Therapy offers a confidential space to explore these feelings openly and without judgment.

Having a therapist provides a grounded, reliable space to unravel thoughts and emotions that feel tangled or overwhelming. A neutral sounding board can help you see patterns more clearly, understand what’s contributing to stress or confusion, and gently question beliefs that may be keeping you stuck. Together, we explore what’s working, what feels too heavy, and what may need attention or support.

Therapy can help you feel more anchored within yourself, more emotionally resilient, and clearer about your needs and boundaries. Over time, many clients begin to feel calmer, more connected, and better equipped to navigate relationships, transitions, and daily life,  whether they are building a life abroad or adjusting to new challenges.

Practice description

As an English-speaking therapist based in Sevilla, I support adults across Spain, the UK, and Europe through online therapy.

My approach is relational, integrative, trauma-informed, and person-centred, offering a warm, steady space to explore whatever feels overwhelming, confusing, or emotionally heavy.

I work with clients experiencing a wide range of challenges, including:

• anxiety, stress, and emotional tension
• low mood, loss of direction, or disconnection
• relationship difficulties or repeating patterns
• low self-esteem, confidence challenges, or self-doubt
• loneliness or adjustment difficulties (especially living abroad)
• communication struggles or boundary issues
• overthinking, worry, and internal pressure
• identity questions, life transitions, or changes in circumstances

Living abroad can intensify old patterns and bring up unexpected emotional layers. You may appear capable and independent while privately feeling isolated, overwhelmed, or unsure of yourself. Therapy provides a space where you don’t have to navigate these experiences alone.

Together, we explore your emotional responses, relationship patterns, and the beliefs that shape your sense of self. I offer both a grounded presence and gentle challenge, helping you notice what’s beneath the surface and see things you may not be able to recognise on your own.

Some sessions may feel soothing and reflective, while others may bring up deeper emotions or old experiences. Exploring what you’ve been carrying can sometimes feel draining,  this is normal. We move slowly, at a pace that honours your nervous system and your emotional capacity.

Over time, many clients feel more stable, more confident, and more connected to themselves. Anxiety softens, communication becomes clearer, boundaries strengthen, and relationships often feel more balanced. The aim is not to become a different person, but to feel more grounded in who you are, more present in your life, and more able to meet challenges with clarity and self-trust.

My first session

Before beginning therapy, we’ll have a complimentary 20–30 minute discovery call. This isn’t a therapy session, but a gentle space to explore what brings you here, what you’re hoping for, and how I work. It’s an opportunity for you to get a sense of me and ask any questions, and for us both to consider whether the fit feels right. A good therapeutic relationship is essential, you deserve to work with someone you feel safe with, understood by, and comfortable being yourself around.

During the call, I’ll invite you to share a little about what’s been going on for you. There’s no pressure to tell your whole story or go into anything before you're ready. We’ll talk about what you’d like support with, what feels important for you right now, and what you hope might change or feel different over time.

I’ll also explain my approach, what sessions can look like, and how we would work together, including pace, boundaries, and what support might feel like in practice. You’re welcome to ask anything you need, whether practical or emotional.

This call is simply a starting point, a space to check in with yourself and notice whether you feel seen, at ease, and supported. If it feels like a good match, we can arrange our first full session. And if not, that’s completely okay. The aim is for you to feel empowered and informed in choosing the right therapist for you. Your wellbeing, comfort, and autonomy always come first.
