Therapist - Tenterden

Tenterden TN30
Sessions from £50.00

Features

Availability

I offer online therapy to adults in Tenterden, Kent, as well as clients across the UK.

I currently have availability for weekly sessions during daytime and early evening hours (Monday–Friday).

Sessions take place via secure video, and we will agree on a regular weekly time so you have a consistent, reliable space for yourself.

Please get in touch for my current availability or to arrange an initial complimentary discovery session to talk about your needs.

About me and my therapy practice

I’m a BACP-registered counsellor and psychotherapist, supporting adults who live with anxiety, people-pleasing, chronic self-doubt, and the long-lasting impact of growing up in a family that appeared “fine” on the surface but was emotionally difficult underneath.

Many of the people I work with were the responsible one, the strong one, or the “easy” child in their families. As adults, they often struggle with boundaries, feel responsible for other people’s emotions, overthink everything, or lose themselves in relationships.

My approach is warm, grounded, and relational. I offer a calm, steady space where you can explore what you’re feeling, understand your patterns, and reconnect with parts of yourself that have been overlooked, silenced, or overwhelmed. Therapy with me is collaborative, we work at your pace, without pressure or judgement.

I believe you don’t have to keep living from old roles that were never meant to be yours. Together, we’ll make sense of where these patterns came from and support you in building a life with more clarity, self-worth, and emotional freedom.

Practice description

I work online with adults experiencing:

  • anxiety, chronic worry, and overthinking
  • people-pleasing and difficulty saying no
  • guilt, fear, or discomfort around boundaries
  • codependency and familiar but draining relationship patterns
  • negative self-talk, shame, or low self-worth
  • self-abandonment and feeling “too responsible” for others
  • the impact of quietly dysfunctional or emotionally disconnected family systems
  • parentification or being the strong/reliable one in childhood

My practice is trauma-informed, relational, and integrative. I draw from person-centred, psychodynamic, and parts-based approaches to help you understand your emotional world, build internal safety, and develop healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.

We’ll explore both what’s happening in your life now and the earlier experiences that shaped your patterns, always at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.

My first session

The first session is a gentle space for us to meet and see if working together feels right for you. There is no pressure to share everything at once, many people arrive feeling anxious, unsure where to start, or worried about saying the “wrong” thing. This is completely normal.

We’ll talk about what’s brought you to therapy, what you’re struggling with, and what you’re hoping for. I’ll explain how I work, answer any questions you may have, and outline what therapy with me might look like.

You’re welcome to take your time, pause, or ask for clarification whenever you need to. My aim is to offer a calm and supportive space where you can begin to feel safe, understood, and grounded.

If it feels like a good fit, we’ll arrange a regular weekly session time and begin working together at a pace that suits you.

About me and my therapy practice

English-Speaking Therapist in Sevilla | Anxiety, Stress, Low Mood, Relationships & Life Transitions

Hello, I’m Catriona, a UK-trained, BACP-registered therapist based in Sevilla, offering online therapy to English-speaking adults across Spain, the UK, and Europe.

I support clients experiencing a broad range of emotional and relational challenges, including:

• anxiety, stress, and emotional overload
• low mood, sadness, or loss of direction
• low self-confidence, self-esteem concerns, or self-doubt
• relationship difficulties or recurring patterns
• struggles with communication or expressing needs
• overthinking, worry, or internal conflict
• feelings of isolation, loneliness, or cultural adjustment
• burnout, pressure, or constant tension
• identity shifts, life transitions, or uncertainty about the future

Living abroad can amplify emotional experiences, many people describe feeling capable and independent, while inside they quietly struggle with worry, disconnection, or self-doubt. Therapy offers a confidential space to explore these feelings openly and without judgment.

Having a therapist provides a grounded, reliable space to unravel thoughts and emotions that feel tangled or overwhelming. A neutral sounding board can help you see patterns more clearly, understand what’s contributing to stress or confusion, and gently question beliefs that may be keeping you stuck. Together, we explore what’s working, what feels too heavy, and what may need attention or support.

Therapy can help you feel more anchored within yourself, more emotionally resilient, and clearer about your needs and boundaries. Over time, many clients begin to feel calmer, more connected, and better equipped to navigate relationships, transitions, and daily life,  whether they are building a life abroad or adjusting to new challenges.

Practice description

As an English-speaking therapist based in Sevilla, I support adults across Spain, the UK, and Europe through online therapy.

My approach is relational, integrative, trauma-informed, and person-centred, offering a warm, steady space to explore whatever feels overwhelming, confusing, or emotionally heavy.

I work with clients experiencing a wide range of challenges, including:

• anxiety, stress, and emotional tension
• low mood, loss of direction, or disconnection
• relationship difficulties or repeating patterns
• low self-esteem, confidence challenges, or self-doubt
• loneliness or adjustment difficulties (especially living abroad)
• communication struggles or boundary issues
• overthinking, worry, and internal pressure
• identity questions, life transitions, or changes in circumstances

Living abroad can intensify old patterns and bring up unexpected emotional layers. You may appear capable and independent while privately feeling isolated, overwhelmed, or unsure of yourself. Therapy provides a space where you don’t have to navigate these experiences alone.

Together, we explore your emotional responses, relationship patterns, and the beliefs that shape your sense of self. I offer both a grounded presence and gentle challenge, helping you notice what’s beneath the surface and see things you may not be able to recognise on your own.

Some sessions may feel soothing and reflective, while others may bring up deeper emotions or old experiences. Exploring what you’ve been carrying can sometimes feel draining,  this is normal. We move slowly, at a pace that honours your nervous system and your emotional capacity.

Over time, many clients feel more stable, more confident, and more connected to themselves. Anxiety softens, communication becomes clearer, boundaries strengthen, and relationships often feel more balanced. The aim is not to become a different person, but to feel more grounded in who you are, more present in your life, and more able to meet challenges with clarity and self-trust.

My first session

Before beginning therapy, we’ll have a complimentary 20–30 minute discovery call. This isn’t a therapy session, but a gentle space to explore what brings you here, what you’re hoping for, and how I work. It’s an opportunity for you to get a sense of me and ask any questions, and for us both to consider whether the fit feels right. A good therapeutic relationship is essential, you deserve to work with someone you feel safe with, understood by, and comfortable being yourself around.

During the call, I’ll invite you to share a little about what’s been going on for you. There’s no pressure to tell your whole story or go into anything before you're ready. We’ll talk about what you’d like support with, what feels important for you right now, and what you hope might change or feel different over time.

I’ll also explain my approach, what sessions can look like, and how we would work together, including pace, boundaries, and what support might feel like in practice. You’re welcome to ask anything you need, whether practical or emotional.

This call is simply a starting point, a space to check in with yourself and notice whether you feel seen, at ease, and supported. If it feels like a good match, we can arrange our first full session. And if not, that’s completely okay. The aim is for you to feel empowered and informed in choosing the right therapist for you. Your wellbeing, comfort, and autonomy always come first.

About me and my therapy practice

Online Therapist | Self-Doubt, People-Pleasing, Anxiety & Boundaries | Serving Altrincham & Cheshire

Hello, I’m Catriona, a UK-trained, BACP-registered therapist offering online therapy for adults in Altrincham, Cheshire, and across the UK.

I specialise in supporting people who feel stuck in self-doubt, anxiety, people-pleasing, codependence, toxic or unstable relationship patterns, poor boundaries, emotional responsibility, negative self-talk, and the pressure to cope alone.

Many clients come to therapy not because something is “wrong” with them, but because they’re exhausted from repeating the same painful dynamics, feeling overwhelmed in relationships, doubting themselves constantly, or carrying everyone else’s emotions at the expense of their own wellbeing.

Often, clients appear capable and caring on the outside, while inside they experience:

  • Persistent self-doubt or self-criticism
  • Anxiety, overwhelm, or constant internal pressure
  • Difficulty setting boundaries without guilt
  • Feeling responsible for others’ emotions
  • Being drawn to or stuck in toxic or unbalanced relationships
  • Fear of rejection or fear of upsetting others
  • Confusion about needs, limits, or identity
  • Overthinking and decision paralysis

These patterns rarely appear out of nowhere. They often begin in environments where emotional safety was inconsistent, where you learned to stay small, stay strong, avoid conflict, or keep the peace. Over time, these survival strategies can follow you into adult relationships, leading to unhealthy dynamics, anxiety, people-pleasing, emotional over-responsibility, and losing yourself in relationships.

Therapy offers a space to understand these patterns with compassion, and begin building a more grounded, confident, and self-trusting relationship with yourself.

Practice description

As an online therapist serving Altrincham, Cheshire, and the wider UK, I support adults who struggle with self-doubt, anxiety, people-pleasing, codependent dynamics, toxic relationship patterns, emotional overwhelm, poor boundaries, negative self-talk and chronic guilt.

My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in the belief that real change happens through safety, understanding, and genuine connection, not fixing, judging, or forcing. I don’t see you as a problem to solve, but as someone whose responses once made sense in the context you grew up in.

Together, we work toward a life that feels calmer, clearer, and more connected, a life where you no longer have to abandon yourself to maintain relationships or keep the peace.

My work is integrative and person-centred, drawing from a range of approaches to support your unique pace and needs.

Therapy with me isn’t about performing or having everything together. It’s a collaborative process where we explore your inner world with honesty and curiosity. I offer both a steady presence and a gentle challenge, helping you step outside old beliefs, assumptions, and survival strategies to see what’s supporting you, and what’s keeping you stuck.

Some sessions may feel gentle; others may feel emotionally challenging. Both are part of the work. We move at a pace that respects your nervous system and your capacity, ensuring you feel grounded and supported as deeper layers unfold.

Through this process of compassionate exploration, many people begin to relate to themselves differently, with more clarity, confidence, compassion, and self-trust. Over time, they find their relationships become healthier, their decision-making clearer, and their sense of self stronger and more stable.
