Availability
I currently have availability for new clients and offer in-person therapy only. I work from quiet, comfortable rooms in Cheadle (South Manchester) and Birch Vale (High Peak). Sessions are 60 minutes and take place weekly at an agreed regular time so the work has consistency and a clear rhythm.
My availability varies slightly throughout the week, with some daytime and limited early evening appointments. If you have particular scheduling needs, feel free to let me know — we can explore what is possible together.
Before beginning therapy, I offer a short introductory call. This is simply a chance for us to speak, for you to get a sense of me and how I work, and for us both to see whether it feels like the right fit. If we decide to move forward, we’ll agree a weekly time and location that suits you.
I take planned breaks during the year and will always let you know these dates well in advance. I aim to offer a reliable, steady frame so that the work feels predictable and held.
If you’re thinking about beginning therapy, you’re welcome to get in touch to ask questions or arrange an introductory call. We can explore together whether now feels like the right time and whether my approach might be a good fit for you.
About me and my therapy practice
I offer a calm, confidential space where you can slow down, speak honestly, and explore what feels difficult, confusing or out of step in your life. Many people come to therapy without a clear story — only a sense of heaviness, anxiety, shame, or being caught in old patterns they don’t fully understand. We begin with whatever you are bringing, and we follow the threads together.
My work is integrative, drawing on psychodynamic, humanistic and transpersonal traditions. This means we pay attention to the deeper stories, relationships and patterns that have shaped you, as well as the present-moment experience of being here together. I’m interested in how symptoms, emotions and behaviours can carry meaning — often signalling places of wounding, adaptation or unmet need. Rather than treating these as faults to eliminate, we explore them with curiosity and respect.
The work is relational at its core. I see therapy as a meeting between two people, where the quality of the relationship is central to change. I aim to offer a steady, grounded presence where what is painful or hidden can be approached at your pace. Over time, this helps create more room inside you — more clarity, more coherence, and a renewed relationship with yourself.
I don’t offer quick fixes or a formalised programme. Instead, the therapy evolves through our ongoing conversation. We might look at childhood experiences, family patterns, internal conflicts, the body’s responses, dreams, imagination or symbolic material — whatever helps illuminate your inner world.
The intention is not to build a perfect self, but to support you in living a life that feels more honest, connected and meaningful. This work can be challenging at times, but it can also be deeply grounding and transformative.
Practice description
My practice offers a calm, confidential space where you can bring whatever feels heavy, painful or confusing in your life. You don’t need a clear sense of your “issue” to begin. Many people come feeling stuck, anxious, overwhelmed, or simply aware that something isn’t right. Therapy gives you room to speak openly, reflect, and be met with steadiness rather than judgement.
I work in person from quiet, comfortable rooms in Cheadle (South Manchester) and Birch Vale (High Peak). Sessions are weekly and last 60 minutes, giving the work a consistent rhythm. For new clients, I offer a brief introductory call so we can get a sense of each other and see whether it feels like the right fit.
People often ask what to expect in therapy. The short answer is: we take it at your pace. You won’t be pushed to talk about anything before you’re ready, nor will you be expected to have everything neatly worked out. My role is to help you slow down enough to listen to yourself, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and explore the experiences and patterns that may be shaping your life.
The sessions unfold as a steady conversation. Some weeks you may come with something very present; other weeks we may follow threads into the past or explore feelings that are hard to name. At times we might look at relationships, family history, the body’s responses, dreams or imagination — whatever helps deepen your understanding of yourself.
Clients often describe me as calm, thoughtful and down-to-earth. I aim to offer a grounded presence where even the difficult or hidden parts of life can be explored safely. Over time, the work can help you feel more connected, more resourced, and more able to meet your life with clarity and honesty.
If you’re considering beginning therapy, you’re welcome to reach out and we can take the first steps together.
My first session
Before beginning therapy, I offer a short introductory call. This is simply a chance for us to speak, for you to get a sense of me and how I work, and for us both to see whether it feels like the right fit. If we decide to continue, we arrange our first in-person session at an agreed time and location.
The first session is a full 60-minute therapy session and is charged at my usual fee. I don’t use formal assessments or questionnaires. Instead, we begin with a grounded, steady conversation about what brings you, what feels important right now, and what you’re hoping for from therapy. You don’t need to arrive with anything prepared; there are no expectations about how much or how little you share.
We go at your pace. You may want to talk about what feels immediate, or you may want to approach things slowly and get used to the space. I’ll ask some gentle questions to help us understand what you’re seeking support with, but I won’t push you in any direction. My aim is to offer a confidential, settled atmosphere where you can start to explore your inner world safely.
We’ll also cover practicalities together — session time, location, weekly rhythm, fees, and any questions you may have about the therapy process. The first session is often the beginning of a shared understanding of how we might work, rather than a place where you need to have everything figured out.
From there, we continue meeting weekly, allowing the work to unfold naturally over time.
