About me and my therapy practice

I aim to offer you a truly safe space where you can begin to feel comfortable to explore what has brought you to counselling, free from any judgement. No subject is off-limits, I work with the whole spectrum of human experience and emotion. I understand that often what makes the most difference in some of our darkest days is the presence of another human being alongside us.

I am trained in Humanistic-Existential therapy, which is person-centred at its core, meaning that you are the entire focus and the driver; you set the agenda of our work together. This approach also offers ways to explore the meaning you find in life - or perhaps where that is missing - and to examine the way your experiences may have shaped and impacted you. We can look together at where you have freedom and choice, sometimes even in the toughest places where this might feel impossible.

I'm interested in what things mean to you, how you view the world, how it feels to be you in this world.

I also integrate some aspects of other theoretical approaches and am always developing my work through ongoing training and professional development.

(I currently only work with adults over 18).

Practice description

I have particular experience working with those who experience chronic illness, grief and loss, fertility struggles, religious and spiritual abuse/control, relationship difficulties, attachment wounds and emotional abuse.

I am comfortable to sit with you in the emotions you find most challenging, without needing to fix or rush you through them; while I understand how overwhelming those emotions can feel, I am not afraid of them.

I wholeheartedly believe that the therapeutic relationship itself is key to the effectiveness of the work we can do together. The way I work with each client varies slightly because no two people are the same, and no two experiences are identical. Knowing this, I offer a free assessment phone call or meeting, during which you can begin to determine whether I might be the right fit for you and we can talk about how we might work together if you decide to go ahead with sessions.

I believe all pain deserves to be witnessed and all of us go through times when we need someone to walk with us, hold space for us and reflect with us on where we are and where we would like to be.

Being trusted and allowed to bear witness to another person's journey, often walking alongside as they navigate pain, shame and struggle, is an honour I hope I never take for granted.
