About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified and experienced integrative therapist, registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

I have experience working as a counsellor within the NHS, where I have supported people from many different backgrounds and with a wide range of concerns. This has included working with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, and the impact of long-term health conditions and life transitions.

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck in unhelpful patterns, struggling with a specific issue, or simply wanting to understand yourself better, I offer a compassionate, non-judgemental space where we can work together at your pace. My aim is to support you thoughtfully and professionally throughout your therapeutic journey.

Practice description

I work in an integrative way, which means I use a range of different approaches and adapt our work to suit you, rather than expecting you to fit into one particular model of therapy. I aim to be flexible and responsive to what feels most helpful for you at different stages.

I draw on approaches such as person-centred therapy, which focuses on offering a warm, non-judgemental space where you can talk things through openly; psychodynamic therapy, which looks at how past experiences might be affecting how you feel or relate to others now; and Gestalt therapy, which helps you become more aware of your thoughts, feelings, and body responses in the here and now.

I also use transactional analysis to explore patterns in relationships and communication, and solution-focused approaches to help you build on your strengths and find practical ways forward when things feel stuck.

I believe therapy works best when it feels like a collaboration. We’ll work together at a pace that feels right for you, focusing on what you want to explore and what you hope to gain, in a supportive and compassionate space where you can feel heard, understood, and respected throughout.

My first session

Before starting therapy, I offer a free 15–20 minute introductory phone call. This is a relaxed, informal chat where you can get a sense of what it might be like to work together and whether I feel like the right therapist for you. It is a good opportunity to ask any questions you might have, talk a little about what’s brought you to therapy, and see how the conversation feels between us.

If we both feel comfortable moving forward, we’ll then arrange your first 50-minute session. Before we meet, I’ll send you my counselling agreement to read through in your own time. We can go over this together in the first session, so you have the chance to ask questions and feel clear about how everything works before we begin.

Our first session is very much about getting to know each other and starting where you are. We’ll gently explore what’s been going on for you, what feels important to talk about, and what you might be hoping to gain from therapy. There’s no expectation to share everything at once — we’ll go at a pace that feels right for you, with the aim of creating a safe, supportive space where you can feel at ease as we begin working together.
