About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Danielle
An Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, offering in-person and online appointments.
Before training as a therapist, I gained a degree in Nutrition and a Master’s in Psychology. Since then, I have developed experience across a range of settings, including health and fitness, competitive sport, addictions and substance misuse services, and non-profit organisations supporting people with disabilities and health conditions to remain in or return to employment.
These diverse experiences have given me a broad understanding of the many challenges people can face and the complex range of factors that can influence emotional wellbeing. They have also shaped my appreciation of each person as an individual, with their own experiences, circumstances, strengths and needs.
I work with adults experiencing a wide range of mental health difficulties, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship issues, trauma, stress, grief, life transitions, OCD and body-image.
Practice description
As an integrative therapist, I tailor my approach to each individual, drawing from different therapeutic models to suit your unique needs, goals, personality, and preferences. Our work together will be shaped around what feels most helpful for you. I draw upon a range of evidence-based approaches such as;
- Psychodynamic Therapy
- Transactional Analysis
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Solutions Focused Therapy
Whether you're facing a specific difficulty, feeling stuck, or simply looking to understand yourself on a deeper level, I aim to provide a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental environment.
My first session
In your first session we will take a deeper dive into what has brought you to therapy and explore your needs.
We can talk about what you're currently experiencing, what you might hope to get from counselling and anything that feels important for me to understand. I will also explain a little about how I work and give you space to ask any questions.
There's no pressure to have everything worked out or know exactly where to start. My role is to help with this by asking questions to get to know you and understand your experiences better - We will always go at your pace and see what feels comfortable for you.
The first session is also a chance for you to get a sense of whether you feel I'm someone you would like to work with.
Before booking your first appointment, I offer a free 20 minute phone call to answer any questions you may have before starting therapy.
