About me and my therapy practice
If you are looking for a counsellor, it’s important to find someone you feel comfortable with and who is a good match for you. I believe that one of the most important parts of counselling is building a strong therapeutic relationship, so you can feel safe, trust me, to be able to talk openly about what is concerning you.
Reaching out to a counsellor for the first time can feel scary or overwhelming, and that’s completely okay. Together we can work at your own pace, helping you feel at ease and supported and creating a safe space where you can be yourself.
Practice description
How counselling can help you...
Counselling is a space where you have someone there just for you. It offers time to build trust and, together, develop a supportive therapeutic relationship. Through this process, counselling can help you become more aware of aspects of yourself or patterns of behavior that may no longer serve you.
It can support you in understanding what triggers you, allowing space to let go, and continuing to move forward , even when there are not always clear answers.
Counselling may help you feel less anxious, stressed, and worried. It can encourage self-compassion and kindness towards yourself, and support you in developing practical tools and strategies to cope with everyday life.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling. Every person brings different experiences, challenges, and strengths. My aim is to offer adaptable, responsive support that meets you as a whole person and respects your individual needs
My first session
Before beginning therapy, I offer a free 20-minute video consultation/phone call, to help us see whether we are a good fit. This call is an opportunity for you to ask questions, talk about what has brought you to therapy, share any concerns you may have, and let me know whether this is your first experience with counselling. It is also a good opportunity to discuss our working agreement , what you can expect from me as your therapist, and what I will expect from you in the therapy.
The call is completely optional, and there is no obligation to move forward. If you do decide to have the call, I encourage you to take some time afterwards to reflect on whether it felt right for you.
