About me and my therapy practice
My approach is integrative, drawing on humanistic and psychodynamic thinking. In practice, this means we focus on what is happening in your life now, while also considering how earlier experiences and relationships may still shape your responses.
I aim to offer a steady, thoughtful space where you can slow things down and speak openly. Together we explore patterns, emotions and decisions at a pace that feels manageable.
I work particularly with bereavement and grief, LGBT+ clients, and men navigating stress, anger or identity shifts. You do not need to arrive with clear goals – we begin with what feels most pressing and allow the work to develop from there.
Practice description
I offer individual counselling for adults in Reading and London, as well as online across the UK. My work focuses on loss, identity and the pressures that can arise during times of change.
I have particular experience in bereavement and grief, LGBT+ counselling, and men’s mental health. Clients often come to me when something in their life feels unsettled – following a death, a relationship ending, shifts in role or direction, or when emotions such as stress, anger or low mood feel harder to manage.
My approach is integrative, informed by humanistic and psychodynamic thinking. This allows us to explore both present-day concerns and how earlier experiences may continue to shape current patterns.
Sessions provide a confidential, structured space to reflect, understand what is happening beneath the surface, and consider how you would like to respond.
My first session
Our first session is an opportunity to begin understanding what has brought you to counselling and what you hope might change. I will ask some questions about your current situation, relevant background and what feels most pressing.
It is also a chance for you to get a sense of how I work and whether the space feels right for you. There is no obligation to continue beyond this session.
We will discuss practicalities such as confidentiality, frequency and any questions you may have before deciding on next steps.
I offer a short introductory phone call so we can briefly discuss what you’re looking for and whether I may be the right fit. It’s an opportunity to ask questions and decide, without pressure, whether you would like to arrange a first session.
