About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative counsellor offering a warm, calm and non-judgemental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences at their own pace. I work with both adults and children, supporting people who may be experiencing anxiety, relationship difficulties, family conflict, emotional overwhelm or difficulties with self-esteem.

My approach is integrative, drawing primarily on person-centred therapy alongside CBT and psychodynamic perspectives. I am particularly interested in how early relationships and childhood experiences shape the way we relate to others, understand ourselves, and experience the world in adulthood. Together, we may explore patterns in relationships, beliefs about self-worth, and emotional responses that feel familiar or difficult to shift.

I place strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and on creating a space where you feel safe, understood and genuinely listened to. Clients often tell me that they feel deeply heard in our work together, sometimes in ways they have not experienced before. I work gently and collaboratively, allowing space for reflection while also offering structure where helpful.

Therapy with me is not about being told what to do, but about developing insight, self-awareness and emotional understanding. This can support meaningful change in how you relate to yourself and others, and how you respond to challenges in your life.

I have experience working with both adults and young people across a range of professional settings, supporting clients at different life stages with emotional, relational and psychological difficulties. I work with sensitivity to individual needs and backgrounds, recognising that each person’s experiences and challenges are unique. Therapy can be short-term or longer-term depending on your needs, and this is something we can explore together.

Practice description

I offer online counselling sessions in a calm, confidential and supportive space where clients can speak openly and be met with warmth and understanding. Sessions take place at a regular weekly time and last 50 minutes. Working online allows flexibility and accessibility, while still providing a consistent and meaningful therapeutic relationship.

In our sessions, we will focus on what feels most important for you. Some weeks this may involve exploring current challenges, thoughts or emotions, while other weeks may involve reflecting on patterns in relationships, experiences from earlier in life, or how these continue to shape how you feel about yourself and others. Therapy is collaborative and shaped around your needs, and we will work at a pace that feels right for you.

I work integratively, drawing on person-centred, CBT and psychodynamic approaches. This means sessions may include reflective conversation, emotional exploration, and where helpful, practical strategies to support coping and emotional regulation. You do not need to arrive with a clear agenda each week; many clients find that themes naturally emerge through the therapeutic process.

Confidentiality and professional boundaries are central to my practice. I work in line with the BACP Ethical Framework, and this will be explained clearly in our initial sessions so you can feel informed and safe in the therapeutic space. Therapy can be short-term or longer-term depending on your needs, and this is something we can review together over time.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and for you to begin sharing what has brought you to therapy. Many people feel unsure or nervous before their first session, and there is no expectation to know exactly what to say or where to begin. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

During the first session, I will invite you to talk about what is currently going on for you, any difficulties you are experiencing, and what you hope to gain from therapy. I may ask some gentle questions to help build a clearer picture of your situation, but there is no formal assessment or pressure to disclose anything before you feel ready.

We will also spend some time going through practical and ethical aspects of therapy, including confidentiality, boundaries, and how we will work together online. This helps ensure you feel informed, safe and supported from the outset. If you have had previous experience of therapy, we can reflect on what was helpful or unhelpful for you in the past.

The first session is charged at the same rate as ongoing sessions. By the end of the session, you will have a sense of whether my way of working feels like a good fit for you, and we can discuss how we might continue working together.
