About me and my therapy practice
Matthew Morgan-Jones | Psychodynamic Psychotherapist & Coach | ProDr (Cand), MA, MA, MSc (Cand), PgDip, BA (Hons)
Are you feeling stuck in repetitive patterns, or is a sense of "disconnection" affecting your relationships and personal growth? 3I am a qualified Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and Coach with over 15 years of experience supporting people to transform their lives and perspectives.
In my practice, I provide an integrative approach founded in psychodynamic theory, dedicated to helping individuals and couples navigate complex emotional landscapes. By blending deep psychodynamic therapeutic insight with forward-facing integrative modalities, I work with you to transform your current mindset and reshape neural pathways for lasting change. My work focuses on uncovering the "why" behind your feelings, while providing the practical tools to navigate the "how" of your future.
I offer specialist support across several complex emotional and relational areas:
• Emotional Well-being: Addressing self-esteem, chronic anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation by looking beyond symptoms to understand root causes.
• Trauma Recovery: Processing memories of physical, emotional, or sexual abuse at your own pace to ensure they no longer hold power over your life.
• Adoption & Attachment: Supporting adoptees and birth parents, as well as helping adoptive parents navigate the unique challenges of parenting a previously cared-for child.
• Relational Therapy: Working with individuals, couples, and polyamorous/ENM (Ethical Non-Monogamy) constellations to build clearer boundaries.
• Psychosexual Health: Navigating sexual dissatisfaction, infidelity, sexual kinks, and sex addiction in a non-pathologising space.
• LGBTQ+ Challenges: Providing an affirmative space to explore identity, family dynamics, and societal marginalisation.
Practice description
My practice is built on a versatile framework that bridges the gap between understanding your past and navigating your future. I offer a variety of modalities tailored to your unique personality and challenges:
• Individual Psychodynamic Psychotherapy: Exploring how unconscious thoughts and childhood experiences shape current behaviour to resolve deep-seated conflicts.
• Integrative Psychotherapy: A flexible, holistic blend of therapeutic tools designed to suit your specific needs.
• Relationship & Couples Therapy: Focusing on the "space between" people—including individuals, couples, or partners—to improve connection and intimacy.
• Coaching (Individual and Group): A goal-oriented, future-focused approach to unlock potential and improve performance.
• Psychosexual Therapy (In Training): Providing a safe, non-judgmental space under specialist supervision to explore sexual desire, performance anxiety, or the impact of trauma on intimacy.
Qualifications & Professional Development
Committed to continuous professional development I'm currently completing a Professional Doctorate in Psychodynamic Counselling at the University of Essex.
