About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced Psychodynamic Counsellor and Psychotherapist, offering counselling to children, young people, and adults. I hold a Master of arts in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy. I provide a warm, thoughtful, and confidential space where you can feel safe to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. My aim is to create a therapeutic relationship that is supportive, containing, and reflective, allowing you the time and space to work at a pace that feels right for you.

My approach is grounded in psychodynamic theory, which recognizes that our past experiences, relationships, and unconscious processes can shape how we experience ourselves and others in the present. Together, we can explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion, developing a deeper understanding of your inner world and the challenges you may be facing. I believe that greater self-awareness can lead to meaningful and lasting change, and I place each client's unique experiences and goals at the heart of my work.

I have experience supporting people with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, depression, bereavement, trauma and post-traumatic stress, self-harm, relationship and attachment difficulties, identity-related concerns, and issues associated with neurodiversity, including ADHD and autism.

Alongside my private practice, I work within a secondary school, providing psychodynamic counselling to adolescents. This role has given me extensive experience supporting young people with challenges such as anxiety, self-harm, identity and self-esteem, friendship and family relationships, school attendance, and academic and exam pressures.

I am committed to providing an inclusive, ethical, and compassionate service where every individual feels respected, heard, and understood. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with its Ethical Framework.

Practice description

I believe that meaningful change begins with feeling truly heard and understood. As a psychodynamic counsellor, I offer a warm, thoughtful, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, relationships, and life experiences at your own pace.

My approach is grounded in the understanding that our past experiences, often outside of our awareness, can shape how we experience ourselves and others in the present. Together, we will gently explore patterns that may be keeping you feeling stuck, helping you develop greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and the freedom to make different choices.

I recognize that reaching out for therapy can feel like a significant step. Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work, and I aim to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and accepted for who you are. I will work alongside you with curiosity, compassion, and care. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to support you in discovering a deeper understanding of yourself and finding a way forward that feels authentic and meaningful.

I welcome clients from all backgrounds and strive to provide an inclusive, affirming environment where you feel heard, respected, and accepted. I understand that finding the right counsellor is important, and I welcome the opportunity to discuss what you are looking for and whether working together feels like the right fit.

I offer both short-term and long-term counselling to children, young people, and adults. The length and focus of therapy are discussed collaboratively to ensure the approach meets your individual needs. When working with children and young people under the age of 16, I offer an initial meeting with parents or carers to understand their concerns, discuss the counselling process, and consider how best to support the young person.

Sessions are weekly and last for 50 minutes. Sessions can be online or face to face.

My first session

The first session will be a 50 minute session, chargeable at my standard rate, where I will ask assessment questions and discuss the therapeutic working alliance. This first session will be an opportunity to explore what psychodynamic counselling is and what it can offer you and a chance to see if we are the right fit.
