Availability
I work Monday - Friday including Monday and Wednesday evenings. I have most availability on Thursday day time and Friday morning. I try to be as flexible and accommodating with people’s schedules as possible so do ask if there are only very specific times you can make.
I communicate my leave at the beginning of each year to clients but generally consists of 2 weeks at Easter, 3 weeks in the summer and 2 weeks over Christmas.
About me and my therapy practice
I’m Stephanie, a Psychodynamic Counsellor and Psychotherapist with a background working in acute mental health care. I provide a calm, curious and collaborative space where we can explore together whatever you might be struggling with. Therapy can take time but together we can begin to make sense of your experiences and work toward a place where you can feel differently and live a more meaningful and fulfilled life. I offer appointments same time and day each week Monday through Friday inclusive of Monday and Wednesday evenings.
Psychodynamic therapy is built on the bases that our early experiences influence our current interpersonal relationships, at an unconscious level. As such, our work would help to bring those unconscious thoughts and feelings to a conscious level, providing you with a deeper understanding of your experience and allowing for more meaningful relationships.
My background prior to therapy is predominantly working within the NHS in crisis prevention/support. This means I’ve worked with a hugely diverse group of people grappling with depression, addiction, suicidal ideation, self harm, trauma, neurodiversity and more. Everyone deserves support wherever they are on their healing journey and I’d be honoured to provide a piece of that support.
I can provide in person or online therapy and use rooms within the Rock Clinic Association or the Somatic Therapies Centre within Hove, West and East Brighton. I offer a free 30 minute phone call consultation to discuss further - send me a message to start the conversation. If we decide to move forward together, the sessions thereafter are 50 minutes long at £55 per session.
Practice description
Our work is open ended and over time, we will begin to uncover and understand the challenges you’re facing and begin to make sense of these experiences. The session is yours to talk about whatever feels important and my role is to listen, reflect and help you explore these aspects of yourself within the psychodynamic framework. I will not offer advice but will support you to bring about meaningful and lasting change.
My first session
Our first session will be similar to an assessment where I will ask questions about your history and family dynamics. We will discuss the terms and conditions for therapy and you can ask any questions about the process or express any concerns or fears you have about therapy.
