Availability

I currently have limited availability for new clients, with one remaining face-to-face or online appointment currently available on Fridays. From September 2026, additional availability will open on Thursdays.

I offer counselling for adults aged 18+ through Acoustic Counselling, providing both face-to-face and online sessions within a calm, reflective and non-judgemental therapeutic environment. My practice is grounded in the person-centred approach, with an emphasis upon authenticity, empathy and relational depth.

Alongside private practice, I also work within the charity sector supporting clients with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. This continued experience helps to inform and deepen my therapeutic work.

I welcome enquiries from people experiencing anxiety, emotional exhaustion, trauma, low self-worth, relationship difficulties, grief, identity struggles or a general sense of feeling overwhelmed or disconnected. Some clients begin counselling with a clear focus, while others simply know that something no longer feels sustainable. Both are welcome.

I aim to respond to all enquiries as promptly as possible. If I am temporarily unable to offer an appointment, I will always try to provide an indication of likely waiting times.

Any planned periods of leave or time away from practice will be updated here in advance.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified person-centred counsellor offering counselling for adults aged 18+ through my private practice, Acoustic Counselling. I provide both face-to-face and online sessions within a calm, confidential and non-judgemental environment.

My approach is rooted in the belief that people are more likely to grow and understand themselves when they feel genuinely heard, accepted and emotionally safe. Rather than directing clients or positioning myself as the expert on their lives, I work alongside them at a pace that feels manageable and respectful of their individual experiences.

I understand that many people become skilled at coping outwardly whilst struggling internally. Clients may come to counselling feeling anxious, emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or affected by difficult life experiences, relationships, trauma or loss. Others may simply have a sense that something no longer feels right without fully understanding why.

I aim to offer a therapeutic relationship built upon empathy, honesty and authenticity. Sessions provide space to reflect openly without pressure, judgement or expectation. Some clients find themselves exploring long-standing patterns or experiences, whilst others focus more upon present difficulties or life changes.

Alongside private practice, I also work within the charity sector supporting clients with a broad range of emotional and psychological difficulties. My previous professional experience has also given me insight into high-pressure environments and the emotional impact that prolonged stress can have upon people over time.

Practice description

Acoustic Counselling offers a quiet and reflective therapeutic space where clients can explore thoughts, emotions and experiences openly and confidentially. I offer both face-to-face and online counselling sessions for adults aged 18+.

My work is grounded in the person-centred approach. This means I focus strongly upon the therapeutic relationship and aim to create an environment where clients feel accepted, listened to and understood without judgement. I do not believe therapy should feel clinical, pressured or overly structured. Instead, sessions are led by what feels important for the client to bring and explore.

Clients may attend counselling for many different reasons, including anxiety, low self-worth, emotional exhaustion, trauma, bereavement, relationship difficulties, identity struggles, stress or a growing sense of feeling overwhelmed by life. Equally, some people seek counselling without a clear issue in mind and simply want a space where they can speak honestly and make sense of how they are feeling.

Beginning counselling can sometimes feel unfamiliar or exposing, so I place importance upon helping clients feel emotionally safe and able to work at their own pace. There is no expectation to present yourself in a particular way or to have everything figured out before attending.

My aim is to provide a consistent and thoughtful therapeutic relationship where clients feel able to reconnect with themselves more fully and explore difficult experiences with support and care.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting a sense of whether counselling together feels right for you. I understand that starting therapy can sometimes feel unfamiliar or daunting, so I aim to provide a calm and welcoming space where you can speak openly without pressure or expectation.

During this session, we will explore what has brought you to counselling, any difficulties or experiences you may wish to talk about, and what you hope to gain from therapy. There is no expectation to share everything immediately, and sessions move at a pace that feels manageable for you.

I will also explain how I work, discuss confidentiality and its limits, and answer any questions you may have about the counselling process. This helps ensure that you have enough information to decide whether you feel comfortable continuing.

The first session is charged at the same rate as ongoing sessions and usually lasts around 50 minutes. I do not use formal clinical assessments or diagnostic questionnaires as part of my person-centred approach, although I may invite gentle reflection around your current experiences and emotional wellbeing where appropriate.

Some clients leave the first session with a clearer understanding of what they are experiencing, whilst others simply value having had space to speak honestly and feel heard. There is no obligation to commit to further sessions following our initial meeting.
