About me and my therapy practice
I’m an experienced, fully qualified, BACP-registered integrative counsellor, working with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties. Whatever you're struggling with, however hard it seems, we can explore what's troubling you, help you to understand yourself more deeply and make sense of how you feel. I have particular experience working with neurodivergence, relationship difficulties, trauma and anxiety.
I offer warm, thoughtful and compassionate therapy in Exeter, Dorchester and online. Therapy with me isn’t about being analysed from a distance, instead it’s an honest, open conversation where you can gradually talk about what’s really happening, including the uncomfortable and difficult parts. You don’t need to know where to start or have the right words. Together, we can begin to make sense of what feels overwhelming and find ways for life to feel clearer and more manageable.
I believe the relationship we build together is at the heart of good therapy. I bring warmth, curiosity and thoughtful reflection to our conversations, taking an active interest in understanding your experiences and what matters to you. I'll think alongside you, explore different perspectives and gently challenge when it feels helpful, always with compassion and respect. My aim is to help you feel genuinely heard and understood, while developing greater clarity, confidence and self-compassion.
As an integrative counsellor, I weave together different therapeutic approaches to suit you as an individual, rather than expecting you to fit into a particular model. We might explore how past experiences have shaped the way you see yourself, recognise patterns in your relationships, or make sense of the different parts of you that sometimes seem to pull in opposite directions. There’s no single way to do therapy, and we’ll work together to find what feels meaningful and helpful for you.
Practice description
I work in person in Exeter and Dorchester.
It is not uncommon to feel hesitant or unsure about seeking help. If you are considering therapy and would like to explore whether we could work together, please feel to contact me to arrange a free 20-minute phone consultation. This is a chance for us to talk through what you are looking for in therapy, any questions you may have and whether I may be the right person to support you.
My first session
After our initial telephone chat, and before we meet for our first session, I will send you a brief agreement explaining how I work, including confidentiality, privacy, and cancellations. You will also be able to complete your contact details and raise anything you would like clarified before we begin. This is so you know what to expect and to see if you have anything you'd like to discuss further.
Our first session is a space to slow down and take stock. We will explore what has brought you to therapy now, any relevant background, and what you are hoping might feel different over time. I will explain how confidentiality operates, and you are free to ask me whatever you need in order to feel settled and informed.
Choosing a therapist is personal. It matters that you feel at ease and that something about the fit feels right. I offer a free phone call beforehand so you can get a sense of how I am in conversation and whether my way of working feels like a good match.
