Hi, I’m Caro, a relational integrative therapist and a registered member of the BACP. Would you like a compassionate, confidential space where you can safely explore the worries and anxieties that have begun to feel overwhelming? We’ll work together in a steady, supportive way, making sense of what’s been happening in your life and how it’s affecting you. I have face to face availability on weekdays and some evenings in central Exeter, and online throughout the UK via Google Meet.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a fully BACP trained and experienced counsellor. I work with adults of all ages, including university and college students. Many of my clients come to me for issues including anxiety, overthinking, low mood, depression, burnout, grief, relationship issues or the effects of trauma and complex family dynamics. Therapy with me is not about being analysed from a distance or left in awkward silence. I have a kind, thoughtful and collaborative approach to counselling, grounded in real conversation and a strong focus on helping you feel safe and at ease. My practice is trauma-informed and neurodivergent-affirming.

Practice description

Many people come to therapy feeling anxious, low, burnt out, or emotionally overloaded, often carrying patterns that developed in response to difficult experiences earlier in life or within their family. In our work, these experiences are approached gently and with care, without pressure to go anywhere you are not ready to go.

While therapy can involve painful or complex material, sessions are also warm and down-to-earth. There is room for moments of lightness, relief, and even humour where that feels natural, alongside the more difficult parts.

My work is relational and compassion-focused, informed by an understanding of attachment and the different sides of us that carry fear, anger, shame, or vulnerability. In therapy, we pay attention to this with care and curiosity, including recognising protective or critical parts that may once have kept you safe, even if they now feel overwhelming or limiting. Over time, this can help you feel steadier and more at ease with yourself and with other people.

Sessions are shaped around what you need in the moment, with attention both to what is happening in your life now and to how past experiences may still be affecting you. Over time, this can help things feel clearer, less overwhelming, and easier to live with.

My first session

Our first session can be a place where you are able to say things that have been weighing on you, at your own pace. You may come with a clear sense of what is contributing to feelings of anxiety or low mood, or simply a sense that something is not quite right. My role is to offer a safe, supportive space where we can begin to understand what is happening and decide together whether a short-term, goal-focused approach or longer-term therapeutic work would feel most helpful for you.

Types of therapy

Existential, Humanistic, Integrative, Internal Family Systems, Relational

Clients I work with

Adults, Older adults, Young people

How I deliver therapy

Email therapy, Long term sessions, Long-term face-to-face work, Online therapy, Short term sessions, Short-term face-to-face work
