About me and my therapy practice
It’s possible to appear as though you’re coping while feeling anything but settled inside. You may be managing work, study, or responsibilities, yet feel anxious, flat, or uncertain about yourself. I’m Caro, a BACP-registered counsellor, and I support adults who are looking for change in their lives. Perhaps you are living with anxiety, depression, low mood, burnout, grief, family & relationship difficulties, or life transitions. I am experienced in working with students and neurodivergent adults, including ADHD and late diagnosis. Many clients feel clearer, steadier, and more confident in themselves as therapy progresses.
Short or long term therapy
No concern is too big or too small to bring to therapy, and we can work on a short-term basis or over a longer period for deeper work. We can meet either in person in Exeter, or remotely from your own home. Both options offer a confidential, supportive environment, where you’re free to explore what’s been weighing on you and the challenges you’re facing.
I am a fully qualified and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am fully insured.
I have worked extensively within a low-cost counselling service, compassionately supporting a wide variety of clients and presenting issues.
Before I trained as a counsellor I worked in business and the creative industries for many years, giving me a grounded, real-world understanding of how people think, cope, and get stuck, and how careful psychological work can help things shift.
Practice description
Therapy with me isn’t about being analysed from a distance or left in awkward silence. It’s a thoughtful conversation where you don’t need to explain yourself to be understood. Together, we’ll explore what’s happening beneath the surface, how the past may be shaping the present, and what might help make life feel happier and more manageable for you. We can work together on a short-term goal, over between 5-8 sessions, or alternatively spend longer together, looking at your past and how early patterns might be affecting your life today.
My first session
Our first session can be a place where you are able to say things that have been weighing on you, perhaps for some time. You may come with a clear sense of what is contributing to feelings of anxiety or low mood, or simply a sense that something is not quite right. My role is to offer a safe, supportive space where we can begin to understand what is happening and decide together whether a short-term, goal-focused approach or longer-term therapeutic work would feel most helpful for you.
