About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist with an MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy. I work with adults experiencing complex trauma, depression, and anxiety. I also have experience supporting individuals affected by domestic abuse, helping them explore the emotional impact of these experiences in a safe, and containing therapeutic space.

My work is grounded in creating a safe, thoughtful, and consistent therapeutic setting where clients can talk openly about their experiences and begin to make sense of difficult thoughts and feelings. People often seek therapy when they feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure why certain patterns keep repeating in their lives. I aim to provide a non-judgemental and confidential space in which these concerns can be explored at a pace that feels manageable and supportive.

My approach is psychodynamic. This means I am interested in how past experiences early relationships may influence current difficulties, emotional responses, and ways of relating. Therapy offers a space to develop insight into these patterns, which can support lasting emotional change.

I work collaboratively with clients, respecting each individual’s circumstances, needs, and pace. Therapy can provide an opportunity to explore difficult emotions, increase self-understanding, and develop new ways of coping and relating. Whether you are seeking short-term support or longer-term psychodynamic psychotherapy, my aim is to offer a containing, confidential, and reflective space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported.

Practice description

My practice provides a safe, confidential, and containing space for adults seeking support with anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, or experiences of domestic abuse.

Sessions are 50 minutes long, offering a consistent and focused space for reflection and support. At the start of therapy, a contract is agreed covering confidentiality, session frequency, and cancellation policies, so clients know exactly what to expect and boundaries are clear.

Clients can expect a structured framework where they are supported to discuss challenges, explore emotional patterns, and develop new ways of coping. Sessions are tailored to individual needs while maintaining the containment and consistency essential for psychodynamic work.

Whether seeking short-term support or longer-term psychotherapy, the practice provides a reflective, safe, and supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and able to work through difficulties in a structured and secure way.

My first session

In the first session, I offer a consultation to get to know the client and understand the reasons for seeking therapy. This includes discussing their current challenges, personal history, and important aspects of their life such as family, childhood, relationships. The aim is to create a safe and confidential space where they feel comfortable sharing their experiences.

During this session, we also clarify the practical aspects of therapy, including session length, frequency, confidentiality, and boundaries. Any questions the client have about the process are welcomed, and we agree on a therapy plan together. The first session is a chance for the client to get a clear sense of how therapy with me works and decide whether it feels like a good fit for your needs.
