About me and my therapy practice
Hey! I'm Ben, an integrative counsellor providing short or long-term counselling for adults 18+ who experience anxiety, depression, low-mood or stress, or those who just feel that something isn't right and are finding it difficult to deal with the challenges of life.
I specialise in providing counselling for clients who emotionally eat and who experience disordered eating patterns; supporting them to improve their relationship with food, and with themselves.
I offer a warm, compassionate and supportive therapeutic space where you are seen as the expert of your lived experience, enabling you to go on a journey of personal discovery where you may stumble upon those ah-ha! moments.
Practice description
While my approach is firmly grounded in person-centred counselling principles, I integrate elements of Gestalt Therapy and Transactional Analysis to support you to resolve unfinished business and navigate relationships that may influence your emotions.
I offer a calm, supportive space, free from criticism or judgement, that is deeply grounded in self-compassion and practical support to enable you to integrate self-care practices that provide emotional balance and give you the space to breathe between sessions.
I am based in South Somerset but currently provide an online counselling service so you can attend sessions from the comfort of your own home.
My first session
Reaching out for support can feel like a huge deal and finding someone you feel comfortable sharing your experiences with is so important.
I offer a free 20-minute discovery call via zoom where you can ask any questions and explore how we can work together, and you can decide if I am the right counsellor for you.
If you feel like we're a good fit, we can set up a first session where you can begin your therapeutic journey.
Our first session is a chance to discuss the lay of the land, what life is currently like for you, and to pin down any goals or outcomes you'd like to achieve by the end of our time working together.
All sessions are held at a pace you feel comfortable with and you'll be supported to explore your emotions and experiences on your own terms and when you feel ready.
Sessions are 50-minutes, are held online via zoom, and take place weekly or fortnightly.
