About me and my therapy practice
Taking the first steps towards counselling can feel daunting, but you don’t have to do it alone. I offer a safe, supportive space where you can talk openly, make sense of your thoughts and feelings, and take steps towards creating the life you want.
If you are looking for counselling in Canterbury, I support adults and young people aged fourteen and over with a wide range of life and mental health challenges. Whether you’re struggling with something specific or feeling unsure about the way forward, counselling can offer you time and space to explore and heal.
I believe counselling should be a collaborative and compassionate process. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is central to this, so that you feel truly heard, supported and accepted. Because every person’s story is unique, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and tailor our work to your individual needs. Together, we can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at a pace that feels right for you.
What I value most in my work is seeing you begin to reconnect with yourself — discovering new strengths, perspectives and ways of coping.
Practice description
When you come to counselling, you can expect confidential, non-judgmental support in a welcoming space. I offer a flexible and collaborative approach, focusing on what matters most to you.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on different therapeutic approaches, which means our work together is tailored specifically to you.
Counselling can help you to:
-Reduce anxiety and manage stress more effectively
-Work through feelings of low mood and depression
-Navigate relationship or family difficulties
-Build confidence and self-esteem
-Process loss, change, or uncertainty
-Gain clarity, perspective, and new ways of coping
I offer sessions in person in a dedicated counselling room in Wincheap, Canterbury. It’s a quiet, private space designed to feel safe and welcoming, where you can talk openly without distraction.
If you prefer, I also offer online sessions via a secure video platform, giving you the flexibility to access counselling wherever you are.
My first session
Prior to our first session, I offer a free 20-minute telephone or online consultation. This gives us the opportunity to meet, talk about what brings you to counselling and to see whether working together feels right for you. We can also discuss your availability and decide whether you’d like to go ahead.
