About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Kira.
Do you spend so much time looking after everyone else that you forget about yourself?
Perhaps you find it hard to say no. You may worry about upsetting people or feel guilty for putting your needs first. Maybe you overthink conversations, question your decisions or worry about what others think of you.
On the outside, you might appear to have everything together. Inside, you may feel anxious, overwhelmed or not good enough.
Perhaps difficult childhood experiences or past relationships have left you doubting yourself. You might struggle to trust others or find yourself repeating painful patterns.
I support adults experiencing anxiety, people pleasing, low self-worth and the effects of childhood emotional neglect, abandonment and narcissistic abuse.
You may have spent years putting others first. Perhaps you feel responsible for everyone else's happiness. You might know that certain patterns are hurting you, but struggle to change them.
You do not have to work through this alone.
I'm a qualified integrative counsellor and BACP registered member. I offer a warm, compassionate and trauma informed space where you can feel heard and understood.
Together, we can explore your experiences and make sense of how they affect you today. We can work towards healthier boundaries, greater self-worth and more confidence in your own feelings and decisions.
You do not need to have all the answers before starting counselling. We can take things slowly, at a pace that feels right for you.
You deserve the same care, understanding and kindness that you so readily give to others.
Practice description
I offer a warm, calm and supportive space where you can be yourself without fear of judgement.
You can bring your worries, fears and difficult emotions. You do not need to have the right words or know where to begin.
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, low self-worth, people pleasing and relationship difficulties. I also support those affected by childhood emotional neglect, abandonment and narcissistic abuse.
Together, we can explore what you have been through and how it affects your life today. We can look at patterns that leave you feeling anxious, putting others first or doubting yourself.
My approach is integrative and trauma informed. I draw on Person Centred Therapy, Transactional Analysis and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). This allows me to tailor our work to your individual needs.
Our sessions may help you understand your emotions, recognise unhelpful patterns and develop healthier boundaries. We can also explore ways to manage anxiety and build a kinder relationship with yourself. You lead the exploration. My role is to help you make sense of what you discover.
There is no pressure to share everything at once. I will listen with compassion and curiosity. We will work together at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
My aim is to help you feel more confident in yourself and your choices. Over time, you may begin to feel less caught up in old patterns and more able to recognise and meet your own needs.
I offer in person counselling in Congleton and Wilmslow. I also offer a free 15-minute introductory call, where we can talk about what has brought you to counselling and whether working together feels right for you.
My first session
Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting. You may not know where to begin, and that is absolutely fine.
The first session lasts 50 minutes. It is a gentle introduction to our work together.
We will go through our counselling working agreement and discuss confidentiality and also answer any questions you may have.
You can then begin to share what has brought you to counselling and the challenges you are experiencing.
There is no pressure to share everything at once. We will take things at your pace, with the aim of helping you feel comfortable, heard and supported as we begin our work together.
